How Hard Would It Be To Make A Boheme B Nib Into An Ob Nib?

I have a Boheme that I like very much, but I don't use it much because of it's B nib.

How hard would it be to make it into an OB nib? Is it anything more complicated than filing it to an angle?

I have an OB 146 and B 149 and on the onset, the B does look moddable to an OB. You have to be concerned about taking off too much of the tipping when OBing it.

I'd get a professional opinion.

Yes that was one of my concerns

Hi Hari,

Five minutes ?

This looks very optimistic to me, lets say half an hour to ground and fine tune the nib

If either John or Francis were in the UK I might have considered it worthwhile, but I know neither of them are.

Also, when using such a reputable professional, I would also factor in wait time before a job could be started. :D

As John is UK based, why not drop him an email and ask him?

Could you just not get the nib changed. My Bohème has had a broad OB from new, so they are available. I bought it at a pen shop in Nice France, when I went to buy a replacement pen after a burglary at my house in the Var. I really wanted a Parker Duofold Centennial to replace the one stolen but the only pen they had in the whole shop with an OB nib, was the Bohème, so I bought that. The only time I have had a OB "made" was on my Yard-o-Led, when at the time OB's were not available The pen shop that used to be on Threadneedle Street in the Royal Exchange arranged for it to be done but I don't know by whom. It was never wholly satisfactory and some years later, when OB nibs were briefly available, I had the "made" nib changed to a medium OB, which was far better.

Changing the nib is too expensive
