Twsbi 580 Stubs And Twsbi Mini Stubs - Same?

Can anyone tell me if the TWSBI stubs for the mini are the same width as the stubs for the 580? I recall reading a post from someone saying that the 580 1.1stub is closer to 1.3mm. Can anyone corroborate this?

My real question is: how big is the 1.5 stub for 580? Going on the supposition that the.1.1 is closer to 1.3, would this make the 1.5 much bigger than stated?

I found that there was precious little difference between my 1.1mm 580 and my 1.5mm Mini. I got the Mini later, so tried exchanging the nib but it was still the same. In the end, I put a standard medium nib on my 580 and kept the stub on my Mini. I'm happy with the way things have turned out, but found the discrepancy pretty annoying.

So would you say that the 1.1 on the 580 is about the same size or much wider than the 1.5mm on the Mini?

I'm looking for something bigger than the Mini's 1.1mm. If your observations are correct, then the 1.1mm on the 580 would be bigger.

I found them to be roughly the same size. If my experience is how it goes generally, the size range would look like this:

Mini 1.1 < 580 1.1/Mini 1.5 < 580 1.5

Hope that makes sense.

I have a few stubs for comparison here - sorry, the only TWSBI is the Diamond 580 1.5mm. You'll see it looks somewhat wider than the Goulet 1.1mm stub - but a little slimmer (maybe?) than the two Sheaffers. Then again, the two Sheaffers are crisp italics (calligraphy nibs) rather than stubs - and the 1.3 and 1.5 (from two different pen sets) look very similar!

Theoretically, the Mini and 580 stub nibs should draw the same line; in practice, they may be a little inconsistent - but then again, the ink and paper involved can make some contribution to line width too??

Should mention too, the Goulet nib and the 1.5mm nib were 'dipped' rather than fed from the pen - that may also have impacted the apparent line width...
