Which One Will Be Your Next Fountain Pen ?

I don't understand why you would have to order an ADDITIONAL nib for the pen to have a B nib. Are you saying that you want your Safari to have the Broad nib?

If so you could order from FONTOPLUMO & receive the B nib @ total cost (shipped to US) $21.33. That should allow you a margin of savings for some ink.

The usual disclaimers: I am NOT related to, nor employed by, nor receiving any renumeration from FONTOPLUMO, merely grateful to have the opportunity to enjoy the prices he makes available on pens with superlative communication & shipping.

I wasn't aware of Fontoplumo. I ended up ordering from Goulet Pens (again, usual disclaimers apply). And this way I know the pen should be arriving in a few days  (and packed with their usual extremely insane amount of care... :D).

The reason I was considering getting a B nib separately? I haven't actually used a Safari (in the past none of the colors interested me enough to put up with the grip). If the Dark Lilac came with a B nib I would have tried one just to be different -- simply because most of my pens are Fs.

Oh, and just checked Fontoplumo's website -- they're already sold out....

Just won a black Esterbrook J with 9550 nib. (at least it looks like a J to me from the ebay seller's photos) If that is the case that is three J's: black, gray, green.

My parents are going to Japan for a couple of weeks soon, and I have "ordered" a Platinum #3776 Chartres Blue SM from them. It'll be my first Japanese pen.

Thinking about Dark Lilic Safari because of the color, and not thinking about, but postponing a bit a Sailor 1911 Large in platinum trim. Already have a gold trim one, and it became my favorite writer.

My next pen will be a Lamy. A beautiful Lamy Imporium Titanium with a gold F nib. A friend does't like the nib: much too broad for him . So, he is going to offer it to me..... Pictures as soon I have it .....

I had talked myself out of buying any more pens, then i saw the TactileTurn Gist pen in copper. As i live in the "copper state" (Arizona), i decided that i "needed" it to go along with my copper Karas Kustoms Ink. (How is that for rationalizing a purchase?) Ordered the Tactile Turn Gist tonight.

There's quite a few pens I've been considering. Like top pen said, I love colorful and weird pens so I really want to look into the Pelikan Pelikano Jr, Pelikano, and Twist. I've also been eyeing a VP and an M200.

Last week at the Cincinnati FP meetup, a nice gentleman loaned me a TWSBI 580 Diamond and Vac 700. I've been really enjoying writing with those as well but I'm not so sure about the filling. I can't fill them from sample vials, since the diameter is too large, and it seems silly to buy extra bottles just to fill a few pens.

Oh and I tried a Faber Castell Loom at my local brick and mortar that I loved as well.

I have a TWSBI 580, and I have no problem filling from sample vials! Go for it!

Got my "next" pen (so, it's no next anymore .....)

Just received a Lamy Imporium Titanium from a friend who doesn't like the nib . It's supposed to be F but works as a broad M .... Morevover, he is doctor and only writes a few words and no long sentences, so, unscrewing the cap, writing 2 words, rescrewing the cap, needs too much time for him. Indeed the nib is far from being Fine and unscrewing the cap needs time ..... However, it's a beautiful pen ....fpn_1462304270___thi8848.jpgfpn_1462304308___thi8849.jpg

I have my second Pelikan, another M805, en-route to me as I type. I bought Stresseman just after Christmas in the sales and absolutely fell in love with everything about it - the size, those irridescent striations, the firm nib. Until that point I was in fact an absolute fanatic for the Japanese EF, but my adoration for this pen expanded my love for an expanded line and I now feel the Pilot EF to be too broad for me! Quelle horreur!

So my second Pelikan is the Blue Striated M805, and I have a bottle of Edelstein Topaz awaiting its arrival. Sadly I do not think it'll arrive in time for the weekend, but what better way to compensate for a Monday than with a little blue birdie!

My next next pen will be the M800 Burnt Orange.

Saving up to get a Pilot VP Decimo as a going-to-college gift. It will be my first luxury pen.

I don't know what my next pen will be, but I'm stalking eBay to see if I can spot it! :D

There's a good chance that it will be a lot of Wing Sung 233s so I can experiment on a couple of them.

I just got 3 Hero 616s in the mail, my Waterman Stalwart should be back from repair any day now, and my first Visconti is out for delivery. Busy pen week for this viking.

Probably that Bookworm 675, because it's rather pretty, but also something I can bring to university without worrying too much.

Then, I'm going to save up for something more expensive. Either a Waterman Carene (Inlaid nibs? Heck Yeah), or a proper Delta Dolcevita - most likely a Federico with a Fusion nib, because anything else would break the bank. Gods, those pens are absolutely stunning. Probably going to go for Hell's Bells or Arabian Nights, although there's at least half a dozen colors I really wouldn't mind owning.

I'm also keeping an eye on the Italix Captain's Commission, but more for the name than for anything else (this Guardy here is a ridiculous Age of Sail nerd), although I do love the design. That one's probably going to go on the birthday wishlist or something.

Maybe the Wahl eversharp deco band demonstrator. Does any one know if the feed on the demo is red, like on the other deco bands?

Next? I'd love to plunk my money down for a decent Waterman 52 or any decent Mabie Todd, but I have no access to anything like this. EBay is a bust. I'm happy to pay good money for decent vintage pens. I am not happy to pay the same money for pens that have inflated claims in their descriptions. Note: I just spotted a very faded 52 on the Bay and the seller said it was in "collector condition". Yeah, nah.

I won an ebay auction for a Parker Vacumatic, the ugly brown one. I haven't used one of these in a few years, and I wanted a Vacumatic or 51 Vac to restore. No intentions of writing with it.

It looked decent. I got some amusement from removing, resacking and replacing the fillers on a couple of 51 Vacs.

I happen to love the ugly brown one.

Then again, brown is my favorite colour of ink too...
