Which One Will Be Your Next Fountain Pen ?

Recommended Posts

I have a couple of pens that will become mine in short order...

A Pilot Custom 74 Demonstrator in Violet

Sailor Pro Gear Slim in Blueberry

Sailor Pro Gear Slim Starburst Galaxy

A kickstarter pen from Amy Gregg (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/923522721/customized-wooden-pens/)

...and that should be it...?

There's probably more but I can't remember more off the top of my head...

Next time I walk into Fountain Pen Hospital, I might just get something that's not even on this list lol.

Those who hurt me were not only someone else,

but also those who pretended not to notice. It was my friend.

Currently lusting after a burgundy Pilot E95S. Mulling over it until the next paycheck though, to see if the need cools down (also for the money to buy it...).

I have 3 pens in my wish list, but there is no way I'm getting them anytime soon. So, for now I'm just admiring from afar.

Pilot Decimo

TWSBI 580

Cross Century II

Mostly, I have no serious interest. There are a few pens I'd love to try, but have no real passion about.

But there is one pen I can't get out of my head. I would love Platinum 3776 in Chartres Blue with a music nib. Since this is a pen model I used to really hate, this is quite a turnaround for me.

One of my favorite pens for quick writing! And.. just one of my favorite pens. I got the burgundy in an EF nib. Also, to save some money, if you didn't know already, buy your pen from a Japanese seller on eBay. It goes for about $80 taking that route.

I also like the E95S with an EF nib. One of my favorites.

Hey next pen is in this boxattachicon.gifimage.jpg

Can you rotate that photo 90°, I can't read it?

I've got two Jinhao pens (450 and 750) in my Goulet Pens cart now that will be my second and third pens (the first being my trusty Pilot Metropolitan). Further out towards the horizon I'm also looking at the Conklin Duragraph in cracked ice or the Noodler's Konrad in Rattlesnake & Adrenaline. Probably not a terribly impressive collection, but they're pens that I think will be pleasing to me that I will feel comfortable writing with regularly.

Best regards,

Justin

It depends on how soon I buy a new pen and various other factors. If I need a new pen before September, I'm probably going to get a Pilot Metropolitan as a good "carry around and don't worry if something bad happens to it" pen. Closer to September, and I'll get a Platinum 3776 Century. I'd probably still eventually get the Metropolitan for the carry around factor.

There are a few on my short list, but I think the next will be a Pilot Decimo in Pearl White with the intention to swap the nib with the upcoming 1.1 VP stub.

Notable Mention:

TWSBI Vac700 with a 1.5 stub

You won't be disappointed. I bought the clear one and quickly bought the Smoke, Blue and Orange ones. My favourite pen(s).

Levenger True Writer in Obsidian broad nib (and extra medium nib)

Shaeffer Legacy matte black/palladium with medium nib

Pelikan M605 medium nib (still undecided whether marine blue demonstrator or black)

...and then i will need to start getting rational about pen aquisition (riiight, right?)

My few remaining pens are going in the other direction. Down to 11 left now. Nothing coming in. No plans for anything either.

I haven't gotten a new pen in over a year now! I really need to get that Pilot Custom 823 already. After that I want to jump on the Nakaya train with a Shiro-Tamenuri Piccolo Cigar, maybe with some simple custom work done on it.
