For a while ..... Or do you mean for a ........ Week?

I wanted to write 'for the rest of 2015' but I knew that was setting myself up to fail almost immediately. So, I was non-committal! I'll try for September...

I've eyed the plain black Carene a few times, on a very good deal. It keeps getting bumped down my list, though. That one is lovely!

I personnaly have two Carene and one Edson; the look is splendid, the pens are great but the nibs are as hard as a nail ....

I've been bingeing lately so I need to slow down and really appreciate the pens I've picked up, then slim down the collection a little.

The Lamy 2000 has been on my next-pen list for a while, it just keeps getting bumped.

Pelikan | Pilot | Montblanc | Sailor | Franklin-Christoph | Platinum | OMAS

I can't seem to get this pen off my mind: A Pilot Custom 823 in amber with a medium nib. That will probably be next.

I had one of these as my only fountain pen for the first 15 or so years of my working life. It was always filled with Watherman's purple ink. Always... for 15 years. Then it started leaking, Waterman fixed it and then it happened again. Eventually they told me it was worn out. I'd forgotten how much I'd loved that pen - thanks for the memories. (I now have about 50 pens and close to 80 inks, but no Waterman pens or ink.)

My next pen will be the new Pelikan Amethyst.... or maybe a trip down memory lane with one of those Watermans.

I think the Pelikan Amethyst won't be out in another 2-3 months. I will lay low until then.

Ok, after 3 new pens in last 2 days - if you want to know, 3 pocket pens from the Japan big 3, one each, i really want to compare them - i hereby declare that i won't get another pen in next three months because i need to focus on my project now. When it launchs on October, maybe i will celebrate it by another pen. Don't have anything in mind yet, and try to keep it that way. Because if i have eyes on a particular pen, it will bug me night and day until i get it.

Don't temp me, i try my best to keep my word this time :D

When I first became serious about fountain pens about 25 years ago, I bought one from each of the "Big Four", a Mont Blanc 149, a Parker Duofold Centennial, a Pelikan M800, and a Waterman LeMans 100. I liked them all; probably liked the Waterman the most. As time went on, I bought more MBs, more Parkers, and many more Pelikans, and a few more LeMans 100s, especially when they were on close-out. The Edson never really appealed to me. Recently, I decided to get some stub nib pens, thanks to the "Stub O' the Day" topic on FPN. I did a search for "stub" on nibs.com, my favorite pen purveyor, and Waterman came up, several times. I ordered an Exception Day and Night Black. It arrived yesterday. I was reminded of what wonderful pens Waterman makes. Fit and finish is perfect. The stock stub nib writes like a dream. I filled it with some old Waterman blue-black I had around, which is about half phenol. I was transported back to 1990.

My next fountain pens will include a Waterman or two—they are really nice pens!

Would you compare the Carenes and the Edson? As I posted above, My interest in Watermans has been renewed.

I am holding my hands and sewing my pockets and wallet. I want another franklinChristoph, the pocket 40, but I don;t need it. I just ordered a Colorado Pens design that looks like a nice design (FC like, but different) , not still on the web site. I hope I made a good decision. Problem is I have to wait 3 months for it. This is torture.

Of course, the price and look is different but the way it writes is very similar.

Thier what are those marks on your Edson where the barrel meets the section?

Thanks. Do you prefer one over the other?
