I'm really battling with the thoughts of buy or not to buy a Parker Premier, but its price is so close to Duofold, and still tend to like Duofold's look much better than Premier. In case if I would buy, I think about Pink gold od Titanium.

Just browsing through this topic and I saw all the Hakase posts. I did a little research and now understand why everyone is so interested in them. I like Japanese pens in general and have a few by each of the Big Three. It seems like a Hakase is the next logical choice. I do like instant gratification; waiting a year for a pen seems like a long time. Apparently they do not come up on the used market very often, so I guess a year's wait will have to do.

A Lamy Al-Star in Orange Copper will hold me for a while, though.

I'm still trying to figure out how to list all my pens down here.

My next fountain pen purchase will probably be for a small number of relatively inexpensive pens. I recently saved a few options to my Amazon wish list. My old Pelikan Pharo seems to be having some issues, and I'd like to replace it with another Pelikan -- I'm thinking the P200 since it takes cartridges, and I want to be able to use the cartridges I have. I'm looking at the Cross Classic Century, since many years ago I got a ballpoint pen that looks like it's the same design, and a matching set might be nice (plus I prefer fountain pens). I have a pair of Jinhao 250s which work well enough especially given how cheap they were, so I'd like to get some other model(s) of theirs in the future. I'm also considering the Parker IM and the Pilot Metropolitan. I probably won't buy all of these soon, but I might be get a few with some of my tax refund money. :)

There should be a vintage set of green striped Pelikans, a fountain pen and pencil in a case, flying to me right now. I wonder what condition they'll be in. Keeping my fingers crossed.

My next pen will be a Nakaya Negoro Shiro-tamenuri with a Spencerian grind nib or a Omas Milord Arco Celluloid with the Extra Flessibile nib.

Well, in a year or two when I've saved up enough for either of them..

It is hard deciding on which will be the next pen. I am looking at all of the following pens:

Mont Blanc 149 - in either fine or extra fine

Mont Blanc 146 - in either fine or extra fine

Vintage Pilot Vanishing Point faceted - fine/EF

Parker Vacumatic Maxima - preferably in Azure Blue

Platinum 3776 Chartres Blue or Demonstrator - F/EF/

Lamy Al-Star Ocean Blue - Extra Fine

I would really like to get my fist Mont Blanc soon, used of course, and will get at least one more on the list.

I think I would like to get the new Spring 2015 Edition Edison Nouveau Premier in Lilac, with an extra fine steel nib (will upgrade to gold later on). It's the first light purple pen I've seen that suits my light purple desires. xD

I would like a Platinum 3776 with the Music nib. I actually found one, labelled "MS", at a really good price, but the seller, who apparently does not even know what a Music nib is, refuses to look in the box because then "it will no longer be new". Do you believe that?

I don't know what pen will be the next, but I've just ordered Hakase and I should get it in March 2016

I wonder if the Hakase wait of a year is honestly due to amount of orders? It's a popular marketing technique in Japan (and other countries) to make customers wait a long period for high end products even if they could ship it next week. It creates a strong desire and requires a customer be very dedicated to the brand. Anticipation creates a huge emotional response and often spreads the brand's name a lot during the waiting period.

They have reduced the wait from two years to one. One would think that they could reduce it further if they wanted. Whether the delay is an intentional or incidental marketing ploy we'll probably never know. But it is certainly woking; we're all talking about it.

I don't think it is marketing technique. It is small family business which is acting on preorder base. I am sure they have many orders, and only one master doing everything with his hands. My first Hakase I ordered in May 2014 and received the Pen in December 2014, so I waited only 7 months. The difference in waiting period is the result of the amount of orders.

Next for me is one of the new Pelikan m200 Café Crèmes. I'm just trying to decide what nib to order for it. I've narrowed it down to either an EF or a B nib. I think.... :wallbash:
