Which One Will Be Your Next Fountain Pen ?

Thier.

Recommended Posts

I'm committed to putting $50 a paycheck away to save up for a Montblanc 149. I've promised that I won't spend more than $20 on a pen until then, and only for education/experimentation - nib swaps, alternate grinds, etc.

Yesterday, Someone proposed me a Montblanc 75th anniversary for 350 €. Will that be my next one ? I still don't know yet and have to think about it. Of course it´s cheap for such a pen ben still a big amount of money .....

Me too! Do you know anything more specific about this possible release? I have heard some folks say it isn't much more than rumor.

According to the Goulets (Mentioned in Q&A #33, May 30th)

Any news from TWSBI? Vac-mini and Eco?

  • Vac-mini: we’re told within two month, final testing. Mid-summer
  • Eco: a little more final testing, late-summer/fall
  • subject to change, as always!

I have a number of pens in my sights, but I think THE pen is going to be a Romillo. Or maybe a MB Hemmingway *groan for indecisiveness*

I already posted but here are the next three...

1. karas Ink. I've been drooling over that FO since last year and they are torturing me with production delays. I'm ready to give up, but then I look at pics of it. Japanese shape, all metal, American company, interesting clip.

2. Franklin-Christoph 02 Intrinsic in Ice. It's modern and different and cool as ice.

3. TWSBI Micarta. It looks like it should have some Japanese marketing billing it like a Nakaya with a $500 price tag, but it's only (yeah "only") $100. Love the shape and number 6 nib and it's being discontinued. If it came in black micarta I would already own one.

I'm outright buying a Dialog 3 this year, and frankly, I'm quite nearly there in terms of money...Just another week or two!

You will like the LAMY D3

When I can spring for it, my eye will be on a nice condition vintage pilot MYU. I just love the looks of those.

Well, I'm officially hopeless *facepalm*

My next pen(s) are:

Platinum 3776 Century (UEF)

Pilot Metropolitan (F)

Kaweco Liliput (EF)

Kaweco Sport Classic (EF)

And they're already on the way....

For my next pen, I'm between: Montblanc 146 from 80s/early-mid 90s, Pelikan 400 Tortoise (vintage) and

another Pelikan 100N in blue-green. I want them all at the same time, but it will be a while before I can get one.

I'm pretty happy with my line-up of pens at the moment. Everything minus the MB 146 is icing on the cake.

Forgot I also have to repair a pen, so yeah, it will be a while...

Ok...

My third post! I changed my mind.

My next pen will be a Lamy 2000 arriving in a couple days. The Karas Ink will be the next FP after that... I think.

I had a choice between a TWSBI Micarta or a Lamy 2K. After looking and reading and thinking realy hard for 24 hours the Lamy was a surprise winner. I really wanted the Micarta, but the Lamy just took over for so many reasons. Number one being I studied the Bau Haus in college for years and the gold nib with piston filler won me over. I was dead set on the Micarta until I actually got the money for ordering.
