I've got two on the way. A vintage Sheaffer Balance with a 0.40 stub ground by Mr. Minuskin, and a Desiderata flex pen.

Cannot wait to get these two.

Just received my Parker Sonnet matt black GT. My Sonnet deep red GT is , hopefully , on its way from Dubai. Also waiting for another shipment from USA containing two Sheaffer PFM Imperials , a Nemosine as well as some chinese (kaigelu and jinhao) pens.

I have a 1970s Montblanc Carrera on its way from overseas. A very unique model and not the usual black pen, so am very excited.

Do you bought the orange version ? I also have it. A NOS coming from an ex-Porsche dealer ..... I've just dipped it to have a look and, of course, it's great .....

Ordered the Pelikan M400 in Double Broad in red from stylo.ca They just emailed me they don't have it anymore. So I guess not my luck today. I really want this pen in red.

Here are a couple of places to look:

Go to the vendor "missing-pen" on ebay. He has a lot of hard-to-find items. I recently was able to get a BB nib for a Pelikan M1000 from him.

Another good source is penboard.de.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

Thanks but I am always afraid to order on eBay.

Sorry to hear that. I imagine you should be able to find it easily on ebay though!

Thanks, I don't usually buy anything on eBay. I don't trust people.

Regina Martini (who owns her own "auction site" in Germany) recently sold a Carrera on her US ebay site. (Many of the US & European sellers are also offering some products on Ebay as well. I Sell Pens, Montgomery Stationary, Goldspot, Bertram's Inkwell, Peyton Street Pens & Dalys to name a few) I have purchased from each of them & been most pleased. If you ever decide to consider Ebay as a source then rest assured there are some sellers who have earned their reputation for reliability before they became an Ebay dealer. I wish you good luck in your search. I know how frustrating it can be to try & obtain a pen that is not currently manufactured.

Thanks so much I might have a look. Usually I buy new. You never know I might find something I like on eBay.

If you find something you're interested in, just ask us about the dealer. Most of us have done business with several of them, and we can tell you if they are reliable. I would do the same if I ran across a dealer I didn't know.

I'd be leery of Montgomery Stationery. Had a bad experience with them -- it's the only time I've ever actually opened a dispute (which was resolved in my favor in a matter of hours). Got my money back and got to keep the stuff -- a Vector FP pen and BP "set" (which weren't, as it happens, but that wasn't the issue I was contesting; I just wanted the refill cartridges as advertised and they got snotty about it) but wasn't allowed to leave feedback.

If they and Ebay seller streetfair have the same item, go with streetcar -- they're nicer to deal with, and generally cheaper than Montgomery Stationery.

Mine were not involved purchases from Montgomery Stationary. I bought Montblanc Corn Poppy ink & previously some Parker Penman Sapphire. Pretty straight forward listings for "what you see is what you get!" Their price for pens is always VERY high in comparison for other dealers offering same for any I have considered. I tend to buy pens from fewer dealers on Ebay although I have been pretty adventuresome on the internet. AND I have only had 1 unsatisfactory experience out of probably 100. It was early in my pen shopping & I purchased a pen that I expected to be a Parker 45 with nib & turned out to be a rollerball! Obviously my mistake for not asking more questions & as it was not much money I consider it part of my education. Didn't certainly want a rollerball but it makes a nice one & could have it's merits as a "quick" writer if one desired. I have to say I have been much more cautious since then so it was probably $ well spent!

I think every purchase is probably unique to the situation. I have had experiences with some of the "favourite" (almost mythic in reputation!) dealers that in my case displeased me. Obviously they are" beloved by the masses"......so it must be me? AND the first time I called another dealer (his phone # clearly provided on his site!) because I couldn't get the transaction to complete (This was probably my 2nd or 3rd pen online purchase) He yelled @ me & said I need to call my bank & request a new card!) Not VERY helpful? And yet I have continued to have commerce with him that has involved no more yelling @ me! So I have found each dealer or seller I have experienced is different & as they all offer different products & prices etc I have chosen to partake of the experience.

I think of it as traveling along a familiar highway that affords speedier travel than the smaller older roadway & because the "super highway" works so well you fell quite disturbed when confronted with construction, lane closures or whatever inhibits your passage.

Sometimes things just don't go "as planned" & I realise it happens to every business (but obviously hate it most when it involves me!)

I decided my next Fp might be a Scriptorium Scribe with a bit of a Nakaya Neo Standard type finial design. Deciding on the material is really hard though... So many choices.

Have seen enough questioning comments about MS that when I see their name as a seller I keep on scrolling.
