Which One Will Be Your Next Fountain Pen ?

A Copper Orange Al-Star for me it will be.

Other than this, I am just not going to be buying pens in 2015.

May all have happy acquisitions!

My next pen will be this one:

Unless of course I win an auction ending in a couple of hours (why did it have to end in the middle of the night? :gaah: ).

If I do win that second pen, it will probably arrive much sooner than the first one (which has an ETA of mid to late February -- I'm already completely impatient). I tried using the tracking info and got email (in German, which the Intertran website only *partially* translated) from Deutsche Post which I *think* says the pen has made it to Frankfort (the seller was in Hannover); if anyone out there can translate the words "Logistikzentrum" (which I *think* may mean "Logistics Center") and "Weiterbeföderung" into English for me I'd appreciate it. My high school German is rusty to nonexistent at this point in my life; but I'm guessing that the email means that it went to so sort of central sorting facility or Customs in lieu of shipment to here for the "amalgamated states of America handover" (that's a direct quote of how Intertran translated part of the message....).

As for that second pen? Sorry, nope. Not saying. B) I'll likely get sniped, but just in case, I don't want to spill the beans so you all don't decide to pile on....

Alexos- I purchased a (solid black) Mini last fall and like it a lot. I also purchased (for about $20 ) an alternate width nib to allow for some variety as my pen mood shifts. There was a slight wobble in the clip and Twsbi immediately gave me a replacement cap.

Well, sad to say, I did NOT win the other auction last night. Got sniped with about a minute and a half to go, and I wasn't willing to go higher (budget wouldn't allow for it). :wallbash:

So if any of you starts bragging about scoring a burgundy Parker 45 with an "R" nib.... GRRRRR! You are not my friend anymore....

Lost it by a dollar. A lousy dollar. After having lost a blue 45 with a gold F nib earlier yesterday -- by 50¢.... :bawl: Ain't no justice in the world.

I'll just have to be patient for a few weeks until the lovely lovely 400 arrives in the mail....

I understand your feeling ...... I often miss pens on ebay for just a few cents ..... But also sometimes because I forget to place a bid and when I remember ..... It's too late : the pen is sold for soooooo cheap ....

I'm currently on the job market and thinking that once I get that figured out and receive a paycheck, I'll be ordering myself a fine-nibbed Lamy 2000 post-haste (would love to Butter-Line Stub it, too, but I'm not exactly in the running for CEO positions!)

There are various pens from the ‘less-inexpensive’ end of the market that I covet, but I expect that the next pen that I actually buy will probably be one of these:

http://www.lamy.com/eng/b2c/safari/017

With a ‘Fine’ nib (and perhaps an additional 1.1mm italic nib too), and a Z24 converter.
And to put in it, a bottle of:

http://www.diamineinks.co.uk/detail.aspx?prodcode=272

For some folks it is nothing more than a widely available, cheap-and-functional school-student's pen; rather mundane, and certainly ‘nothing special’ at all. And I already own several more-expensive pens, and even a Vista with a ‘Fine’ nib. So I really can't say that I have any need to buy it.

But I keep thinking about buying one.
And when that happens, whaddya gonna do? :D

I'm thinking of giving myself a little treat while saving up for my Scriptorium and waiting for the Lamy Copper Orange to come out--a Pilot 78G BB italic in teal!

I specifically determined to get no more pens in 2015. So I have no idea where the red and teal Pilot 78g's with B nibs came from.

Inkstainedruth and Thier

FOLKS: SORRY FOR THE UPPER CASE. THERE IS A REASON FOR IT THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH SHOUTING, ANGER OR EMPHASIS!

KEEP IN MIND THAT LOSING BY JUST A SMALL AMOUNT DOES NOT NECESSARILY MEAN THAN WERE YOU TO BID JUST A BIT HIGHER YOU COULD HAVE WON THE PEN. ALL THAT THE SELLING PRICE REPRESENTS IS THAT THE SUCCESSFUL BIDDER WAS WILLING TO PAY WHAT YOU WOULD PAY PLUS THE MINIMUM EBAY INCREMENT. FOR EXAMPLE: YOU SET A SPENDING LIMIT OF $40 FOR A PEN BUT IT SELLS TO BIDDER X FOR $40.50. BIDDER X MAY HAVE BEEN WILLING TO PAY $75 FOR THE PEN BUT DIDN'T HAVE TO BECAUSE OTHER BIDDERS (INCLUDING YOU) DROPPED OUT. TO WIN THAT PEN YOU WOULD HAVE HAD TO PAY $76, NOT $41. (THE INCREMENTS I'VE USED MAY NOT BE EXACTLY THE ONES USED ON EBAY BUT THE CONCEPT IS SOUND.)

I already posted but here are the next three...

1. karas Ink. I've been drooling over that FO since last year and they are torturing me with production delays. I'm ready to give up, but then I look at pics of it. Japanese shape, all metal, American company, interesting clip.

2. Franklin-Christoph 02 Intrinsic in Ice. It's modern and different and cool as ice.

3. TWSBI Micarta. It looks like it should have some Japanese marketing billing it like a Nakaya with a $500 price tag, but it's only (yeah "only") $100. Love the shape and number 6 nib and it's being discontinued. If it came in black micarta I would already own one.

I might be wrong but I bet the Micarta could be stained black
