Which One Will Be Your Next Fountain Pen ?

I have just ordered a Lamy 2000 and Faber Castell Ambition Pearwood finish...both in fine nib. After those two arrive, my next purchase will be either a Pilot Falcon in extra-fine (question is, does the lacquer eventually fall off with use?) or a Waterman Carene in medium (after a year and so).

I personnaly have both Carene and Falcon. They are so different : the Falcon has a rather flexible nib and the Carene's nib is as hard as a nail .....

I've never had any problem with them ....

Namiki Bamboo from a friend who doesn't like removing the cap : the thread is too long and it needs a too long time. As he is a doctor, he has to uncap and recap the pen just to write less than 10 words ...... Yeah, I've read so many reviews about that pen and it seems to be soooooo splendid ......

Thinking another Sonnet but the Diplomat Balance is still on the cards.

Turns out the Balance is my next pen. Know to choose an ink for it.

Everytime I come here I have a different pen in my mind, and of course it fades off my mind when I replace it with a new hoped for pen. I usually write down my current "nice to have" list of pens in a special notebook for pen & Ink ideas (like putting an XY nib on a Lamy) and after a while the first runner up is defeated by a new one. This way I don't spend that much money out of pocket, only in my mind. It is a nice entertainment but not as good as buying and holding them in my hands...

I bought my first very flexy waterman's 52V last year (and all the other twenty something pens of all kinds) and I hope to buy less expensier pens this year. I am trying to not buy any more pens and concentrate in their USE for 2015. It's a sure thing. But nevertheless, at $25 I am having repeat dreams about a Kaweco full of ink and begging me to own it. I have read many commnets and really would like to use it as an eyedropper, transparent model of course. I also have 2 packs of the Monteverde carts it uses so no more expenses with that buy. i will try to delay this buy as much as I can hold my hand with the other away from my credit card..

Second in my list just because it is more expensive is the Pilot VP. Some reviews are not that good about quality of workmanship and performance, but who wouldn't like a writing instrument like that? That would be my 8th Pilot. So they are tied up in my affections. Cheap with performance and looks or expensive with look and so-so performance.

This said, this is like a snapshot of my mind today, because a few days back I was thinking (and still lingers in my mind) about a TWSBI VAC 700. Hummm! Ilike the filling system. I have a Sheaffer Craftsman with similar and I love filling it. Was thinking about selling it and changed my mind at the last minute although it is not in rotation right now.

Pilot fountain pen "Custom" Black FK-700R-B with medium nib.

I hope it will be only pen bought in 2015. But I know that at some point I will surrender to the temptation and buy a Rotring 600 with gold nib...

the FK-700R is not such an interesting pen, but this is one of the cheapest you can get with a gold Japanese nib and I would love to try to fit that nib on a Pilot Prera clear I own...

It's so hard to keep saving for the "big pens" (Scriptorium and Nakaya) when there are others catching my eye! Kaweco Al Sport in black with an extra fine black nib... mm. It's looks so delicious in my head.

Planning on buying a Visconti Rembrandt. Just trying to decide the colour - the red looks nice, but so does the purple - and no, I can't afford both!
