I just received my 1948 Parker "51" Vac demonstrator. That'll hold me over for a while, but a Nakaya might be calling...

For my final "investment" of this year I have to take a tough decision: Faber Castell E-Motion, Lamy Studio, or Pelikan M200 (all steel nibs, gold is out of the question at least for this year). Anybody helps?.

I.m personnaly a great fan of Faber Castell but the M200 seems to The Pen for so many persons .....

Something vintage off ebay that I can repair myself. Probably an old lever-filler with a little bit of flex in the nib. Not particular about brand as I'm still relatively new at restoration.

Thier, thank you for your advice. I have 2 FC Basic and their steel nibs are the smoothest I've used. But, as you said, the M200 is a sure bet. I will think about the three possibilities (is my last pen for this year, I already bought the 2 FC Basic + 1 L2K). I can´t help you with the Montegrappa, I do not own any Italian FP. Regards.

I really want to get a Pelikan M805 in Blue/Silver with a medium nib... and I haven't bought a pen in 1 year, 1 month, 2 days... so I SHOULD be able to get one soon. I just have to stop buying watches... and ink... and digital camera gear... and books... and...

I have a Sailor Pro Gear in Yellow with a Music nib ground to a stub/cursive italic on order. After that? Probably either an Aurora Optima in Emerald with a ton of Sailor ink or a Romillo. I have no clue which way I'll go on that.

Finally saved up enough for it, so I've got my eye on a palladium D3 with a broad nib.

The recent Jinhao 599 is a LAMY Safari clone (?). Curiosity and a yearning for fun has overtaken me. I have been bidding $2.01

for as many as I could find on Ebay over the weekend. It's a long shot, but I figure people have to miss a couple of them. As of

Sunday night, I had been outbid two dozen times, but I have a red one for $1.68 , You guy DID miss one ! More to go.

 

Waiting for it in the mail.

I've bought one of those jinhao 599 a few months ago and feel happy with it. I payed it more or less 2 € .... For such a price, it cannot be a bad purchase .....
