Which One Will Be Your Next Fountain Pen ?

Thier.

My Accent Briarwood arrived a couple of days ago after weeks of me drooling. It's beautiful to look at, it feels good, the nib looks gorgeous and writes beautifully, the clip is an engineering marvel in itself, I sit just opening and closing the unique filler access machinery.

I might keep it :)

Thanks for the mini review!

I've drastically cut down on my fountain pen wish list yet again. Now there is less than five pens I want, but the first on the list is Sailor Pro Gear Realo in black with a fine nib. I've had a Sailor itch since the beginning of this hobby and it's high time I scratched it.

There seems to be about a fifty fifty chance I'll change my mind about a FP once I finally handle one in person. First case is the Pelikan M series. I picked one up in SF and immediately thought it was really light and cheap feeling. Crossed that off. The second FP that I was lusting over but flipped on was the Parker Vac - kinda fragile feeling. I think I'm sticking to modern day new pens from now on. I don't like pens to feel brittle and fragile and be old vintage used. I don't know. Most pens are somewhat fragile, but neeer materials seem to feel more elastic like they can handle a hair more???

So now my list is now:

1. Naka Ai - on order.

2. karas Ink - should be ready for retail next month???? Should make a great durable daily user.

3. Sailor Pro Gear 2 Realo. That new clip design is awesome looking. And so is the rest of it.

I'm considering getting a M600 around Christmas.

Pelikan 140 EF | Pelikan 140 OBB | Pelikan M205 0.4mm stub | Pilot Custom Heritage 912 PO | Pilot Metropolitan M | TWSBI 580 EF | Waterman 52 1/2v

A Sheaffer Triumph Autograph and perhaps a limited edition Jim Gaston Bexley

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time

I too am quite happy with what I have but have been looking for a Waterman Red Ripple full size for quite awhile in nice restored condition.

My next pen will be the sailor procolor. I really need ink since all I have is noodlers heart of darkness, but I have developed an addiction for pens suddenly.

I went a little bit insane. I'm waiting for:

1. Nakaya Naka-ai aka-tamenuri with soft EF custom nib

2. Edison Collier Persimmon Swirl with Binder oblique 0.4 cursive italic nib.

3. Franklin-Christoph 02 Smoke and Ice with Masuyama needlepoint nib.

4. Platinum #3776 Century Burgundy EF

Oh and I also bought a few BCHR pens of Ebay.

Caretaker for a bevy of Swans.

Probably an old Parker Vacumatic. Love the look of the celluloid and it's about time I got my hands on one. Maybe an old Sheaffer as well.

Also looking for a pen with a juicy flexible stub.

Yesterday, I've been visiting my Fountain Pen dealer in Liège ( Belgium ) and nearly had a heart attack : they had a new display full of Visconti Van Gogh ...... Woaw ....

I really like my Visconti Homo Sapiens. It's probably one of my prefered pens. Seing those splendid Van Gogh, I felt in love ....

Yes, I know, I have sooooo many fountain pens ... So well, I resisted and bought .... nothing !!!! But since then, I'm thinking about those pens ...

On my Homo Sapiens, I have a 23 Ct Palladium M nib which is fabulous. I intend to go one of these days to my dealer to try the Van Gogh steel nib in order to see if it's fine. If I like it, the question will be : which one of those splendid pens will I buy ????? I love nearly all of it but cannot afford buying nearly 10 Visconti the same day ......

Ooooh, lovely colors! I like the green-blue between the yellow and blue-white swirl. I also really like the speckled white on the right side. The more I look, I like them all. But those two especially.

I mentioned in the "What are you waiting for in the mail?" topic that I'm trying to save up for some more expensive pens. a Pilot Falcon Soft EF, Kaweco Lilliput Brass, and Nakaya Ama-Iro are ones I'm wanting. But I'm also keeping watch for some vintage flex. A Wahl would be nice, and what collection would be complete without some Waterman flex?

You know, I've had the chance of finding a full set of flex nibs fitting most of my pens. It really is great to write with flex nibs. As it´s not easy to find vintage flex pens @ correct price, I put those nibs on cheap chinese Jinhao's or so ..... I hope you will find those pens you like soon, even if waiting is part of the pleasure ....

I've been wanting the Van Gogh Iris version which is finally being released for sale in the US. I might have to find out if the local pen store will have it. I'd like to be able to pick one as there has to be variation.

Oh my they are so gorgeous in that photo. Pretty pretty pretty. I must stick with my choice of a mostly green Visconti. So glad it's finally available for sale.

It will either be a Franklin Christoph or a Visconti. I want a palladium nib if I get a Visconti so I am not certain what to get.

Well I've been really active trade-wise with fountain pens this year.

I've been looking for the right opportunity to try out a Pilot VP, and I just traded for it!

Can't wait to start using it and see if it lives up to its great reviews.
