Just bought another! The fall 2014 Edison Nouveau is now available and it is lovely. Just bought it, an array of matching inks, and a lovely fine gold flex nib from Richard Binder.

The smaller you go the more like a round nib you get, so I would go for the .8mm or better yet a 1.1.

Thanks! I believe the largest cursive italic is the .8mm, so, that will be my new baby!

Ordered a pen from Pendleton, a TWSBI mini rose gold with a B-nib, which will be ground to one of his butter-stubs.

First pen from him, can't wait...

What a strange world we live in, where people communicate by text more than ever before, yet the art of proper handwriting is seen as a thing from the past.

haven't decided yet. it will be either TWSBI 580AL, VAC 700, or another Parker 51 with fine nib. maybe Parker Vac., if i find a good deal.

Kind of limited by the source material, I guess. VP nibs are a bit small to begin with. I did see .9mm cursive italic listed, though.

I'm thinking of trying the churchman's prescriptor or the parsons essential from mr pen I'm hearing good things generally. Anybody used one?

No one is born hating another person because of the colour of their skin their background or their religion. People must learn to hate and if they can learn to hate they can be taught to love for love comes more naturally to the human heart than it's opposite.

Yes, I've got one. It's a big pen, so make sure you like big pens. It's an Italix, which means it is a wonderful writer. I've got four Italix pens, (three Parson's Essentials and a Churchman's Prescriptor), with two more on my wish list. I've got the CP with a medium cursive stub and can't say enough good things about it. It is a smooth writer with no skips or hard starts. You won't be disappointed.

BTW, Mr. Ford provides excellent customer service as well. I e-mailed him a long time after I got the Parson's Three asking how much nib units cost. I mentioned that I wished that I had gotten a fine cursive stub instead of the medium regular for one of the PE's. He told me to send the nib unit back and he'd replace it for free. He certainly didn't have to do that. I can't say enough about his customer service. He stands behind his pens!

Franklin-Christoph, Italix, and Pilot pens are the best!
Iroshizuku, Diamine, and Waterman inks are my favorites!

Apica, Rhodia, and Clairefontaine make great paper!

EIther a Franklin-Christoph 33 or 19 with steel med. italic Masuyama....decisions decisions...

19! I've got one and if it's not my favorite pen, it's in my top three. However, it's probably my favorite.

Disclosure - I've never tried a 33.

I just came in to ask for advice on a franklin-christoph with Masayuma nib! I have FOUR pens in the mail (TWSBI rose gold mini from Pendleton Brown, being returned with added flex; custom Edison Beaumont pneumatic in the maligned but beautiful butterfly garden, with a fine rhodium nib ;-); new Edison Nouveau Premiere fall edition from Goulet with extra flex F nib from Richard Binder; and Pelikan 405 with italiflex nib from Richard Binder). At first glance, this would seem to suggest I don't need another pen right now BUT I ordered the TWSBI two weeks ago and returned it for added flex; I paid for the custom Beaumont three months ago when I ordered it; and I made a pre-existing commitment to myself to buy all the seasons of the Edison Nouveau*; so the Pelikan is really my only new pen. And I actually bought the Pelikan because nothing in the Pen Tray appealed to me this month. So some might say I have no new pens on their way at all.

*Does anyone have a winter 2014 Nouveau they want to sell? I'll keep asking until someone says yes!

I´m liking that pen more and more. Not that i own one, but i like the fact that it has a thick section. I have small hands, but i still prefer pens with bigger sections. The Model 19 is a big pen with a price tag i´m willing to pay, and gets good reviews.

Do you have a gold nib or steel? For me it will probably be the regular steel Medium nib. The one concern i have is that there are few reviews of how that nib performs.

Then i need to decide if i want the Cherry Red bands, or the Anderson special version with blue bands (if they get more of them that is, they are sold out currently.) :)

I've got the Masuyama steel nib medium stub. It's smooth and the ink flows very well. I absolutely love this pen. I got it with the Cherry Ice Bands. However, I got it before the Anderson version came out. If I had a choice, I would have taken the Anderson version. I think it's gorgeous!

Don't worry about the standard nibs. They are high quality also. I read that F-C was at a pen show and their table was next to Mike Masuyama. He commented about the high quality of their standard nibs.

Thanks for taking the time to answer :)

Yeah, i love the anderson version and its highly likely that i will try to get that one if they offer it again.

It´s good to hear that the regular steel nibs they offer also work well.

Did you buy the pen at the pen show?

It might be a blessing in disguise that i live nowhere near any pen shows. I don't think I'm ready for such temptation.

No, I bought it at F-C's website. I don't live anywhere near a pen show either.
