Which One Will Be Your Next Fountain Pen ?

Do want!! But I would like it in a 1.1 or even 1.5 stub nib in the rose gold.. Not just swap the one I'd get with it, with a steel stub. Bah!! Until then, I'll pine over a medium nibbed version.

I have the medium nib on mine and it is fantastic! I like it better than my 580 w/ 1.1 stub :)

I am waiting for Goulet Pens to get their shipment of Valley Green Pilot Vanishing Points with the Black NIB in EF. When they do, an order will be placed.

After that, next will be a Pilot Custom 74 in Orange also with an EF NIB.

This lovely Cosmos as soon as Visconti sends it back to the store I purchased it from (doing a nib swap from medium to extra-fine)

Here's to lofty goals! I keep telling myself I'll save up for a Nakaya... And then something else pretty comes along and tugs at my wallet.

Platinum Izumo is a great line .

I have several of them , with F and B nibs , and all are very reliable and consistent.

The nibs are quite stiff though.

If you want a nice urushi , best price quality , at least my opinion

Its a toss up between the M1005 Demonstrator and the M600 Vibrant green.... of course all of that goes out the window when I go to the SF Bay Pen show next weekend :(

Simple solution, get both!

Stiff nibs are perfectly fine for writing! The Platinum Izumo line looks very nice, but I really like the look of the Picolo line of Nakaya. Oh, hell... I just want every fountain pen I see.

I'll be ordering a Lamy in Neon Coral with a medium nib, and a Wing Sung 237 in the orange celluloid tomorrow, though after that, I'm thinking a Waterman Ici et La in Sweet Violet will beckon me. Or the TWSBI rose gold mini. Or another Noodler's Ahab. MAYBE even a Noodler's acrylic Konrad will sneak its way up the wish list.

It's my birthday today and I've received the full size black TWSBI 580 in Rosegold (it is SO gorgeous!) annnnnnnd.....a Montblanc Meisterstuck Classique (also in black/Rosegold). I feel very, very spoilt. The TWSBI looks stunning with a bright blue ink sloshing about in it. The Montblanc actually may need to get checked at the MB boutique though as it's having some hard starts and is skipping occasionally. I don't know if that's due to the ink (Akkerman Shocking Blue AKA Diamine Majestic Blue) or because I'm not so used to medium nibs (I usually write with fines) but none of my other medium sized nibs have these issues. It's a condition of the warranty that I only use MB ink in it, so I've just ordered a bottle of MB green and if it still has issues once inked with that then I'll certainly take it in to be checked. I'm a little saddened as I was hoping for a beautifully smooth writing experience like nothing I've experienced before, yet my Lamy Al-Stars write easier than this pen!

I've also used a bit of birthday money ordering a Black-Purple Al-Star, as I have the pearl/ruby/Bluegreen/ocean blue ones already and felt that this was missing from my collection. I've ordered it with a B nib, which will be my first broad nib.

UK-based pen fan. I love beautiful ink bottles, sealing wax, scented inks, and sending mail art. Also, thanks to a wonderful custom-ground nib by forum member Bardiir, I'm currently attempting calligraphy after years of not being able to do so due to having an odd pen-grip :D

In no particular order:

Pilot Custom 74

Pelikan m205 Duo Green (or maybe yellow) Highlighter

TWSBI Mini

I have a feeling I will pull the trigger on the Pelikan before the other two though. The TWSBI mini is a low priority on my list, but I played around with one last weekend and I do like it. The Pilot Custom 74 has been on my list for quite awhile now and some days I really want one, other days I do not.

I decided to go big this time. After my Amazon debacle detailed on another thread, I'm already a long way toward the goal from the two pens I never received and other money budgeted toward pens that I haven't spent this year. Beyond that, I'm just doing my regular saving and budgeting. Maybe I can get something extra in there through careful pruning of the budget. Since I haven't purchased anything pen related this summer, and if I make myself behave this fall, my pen budget (and a cut in some of the other "fun" areas) should bring me to enough to buy this guy. If I sacrifice enough fun things, I could manage its purchase by Christmas

This is quite a big purchase, and I can see the possibility that I'll save up all that money and will not be able to bring myself to spend the money. It's really way too much for just a pen. But the thing is really pretty! The main thing for me will be the goal and the fun of saving for it. That's quirky fun, but it will be kind of fun to see what I can do with my budget. In the long run, it will be an exercise in seeing what I really do enjoy, whether I buy the pen or decide at that time to put the money toward something else fun. I haven't been buying many pens this year, so I won't feel guilty if I do decide to actually buy this when my budget gets me there.

A worthwhile goal, whether I end up spending the money or not, and good practice for me in saving and sacrificing.

When you get this pen, you will have to tell us how the nib compares to your 823 and your Justus.

Yes, and my wife will be sooooo thrilled about that, that there will be cake and a party when she finds out....

Wellll. . . I have been sort of lurking around, looking for something to buy, and started googling the twsbi rose gold white mini. And found this:

http://pendletonspens.com/Pens_for_Sale/index.html

Which should now be arriving in five days!

It's sort of a big week for me, pen wise, actually. My custom Edison Beaumont Pneumatic, in butterfly garden, is coming this week too, after being on order for months. Perhaps I should be shopping for ink!

This one reminds me of the pelikan honey white, simply beautiful.
