A competent repairer should be able to sort it without damage. If it goes together it should come apart...well that's my principle.

I have 3 spare sections but I can't bring myself to take one apart...yet

I would never have thought about taking a Carene nib out, now I do it without hesitation.

Maybe. Some of the modern nib assemblies are glued together. Sheaffer glued the Legacy sections together and they can not be taken apart. I've tried to take Edson sections apart, and it appears to be glued together like the Legacys. You're likely to distort the shell and/or break it when you try to take the connector threads out. I won't say it's impossible, but it is risky.

The cost would be $165 to replace the piercer section, they can use the same nib. I have contacted Lennard, to see if he has green nib sections left.

I wonder if there's a solvent you could just soak the unit in to slowly eat away at the glue while not hurting the plastic or other pen parts.

I soaked a pen that had been epoxied together with vinigar... or was it ammonia...

Anyways it soaked for about 2 weeks and eventually just came apart.
