Hi all,

Recently, browsing through the fleamarket, I found a box of pens that had belonged to someone's granny.

In the middle of various less intresting stuff there was this litle gem, a late striped binde 100N!

It was bit dificult to pick it up for so litle money not showing a racing heart and trembling hands, but the pen now lays in my desk.

Besides the striped binde and late nib there is also na interesting inscription arround the cap top: "Gunther Wagner Pelikan 100N"

 

Man, sometimes one gets to be sooo lucky!

Those are two real pretty 100-100N's you have.

 

Mine is a common somegi black capped greenish one, at a flea market....a pen I never thought to own. Mine has a Easy Full flex (the stage under a wet noodle) EF-BB....tine will go 5 X a light down stroke; but I don't press the nib more than 4 X the light down stroke. With my heavy hand it writes F.

 

What nib width and flex do you have on those two 100-100N's?

The thing with the fleamarket is that you can spend years looking at junk and then, one day, out of the blue...

 

 

I do love that grey one Christoff, in fact, thanks to your post I knew exactly what I was looking at when I found this one.

 

 

The nib on this pen is a semi-flex, marked F and writing like it.

 

The other two pens just came out of the drawer for the photo.

 

Both have great nibs, the 101N has an earlier "plain script" firm F that writes a beautiful EF line.

 

Now, speaking of that, I guess I should go and ink them ;)

Wow!!! Super jealous.

PELIKAN - Too many birds in the flock to count. My pen chest has proven to be a most fertile breeding ground.

Congrats! Must be a super rare late 100N tortoise stripe. Very handsome pen indeed! Looks well-kept despite its age.

Wow, I am so jealous :) --and happy for you! That is my dream pen. If you come across any more 'extra' 100Ns to spare, can you please let me know?! I scoured the flea market but came up empty-handed, not even a miserable pen, let alone a rare one like that...

Hi pmn! This last saturday I also bought at a fleamarket a very, very cheap Pelikan 100 N just like yours. With the same colours and with the same inscription arround the cap top: "Gunther Wagner Pelikan 100N". May be Portugal can be a source of Pelikans... :)

What a nice pens. I got a black 100 (1932) from Rick Propas. It was expensive, but worth every cent. Writes a beautiful semiflex F. I am saving for a 101N or 100N. The thing is, in Chile you can't find this kind of pens at a flea market. You only get some Parker and Montblanc in really bad shape. So, to get a good vintage Pelikan pen, I have to buy it from the internet.
