Definitely improving, I'd say. How'd you achieve that brushed afterimage effect on the second-last picture? Also, how's flex writing coming along? :P

I've been taking calligraphy tuition for about three months, after seeing your self taught work I can't wait until I reach eight months! Admiring your work the word "art" comes to mind.

I eventually want to learn copperplate, but need to refine my italic/roman scripts.

Ok, so first is Copperplate, may I suggest you learn Cursive first, after you mastered, you can learn Copperplate.

For Cursive, you learn this: http://www.iampeth.com/books/champion/the_champion_method_index.php

For Copperplate, you learn this: http://www.zanerian.com/GalterioIns.html

Happy writting

:yikes: Wow! We are very fortunate to have you share your work with us.

Thank you ongnon. You have given me the opportunity to conclude that, as far as penmanship goes, I have, by comparison, simply wasted my last 8 months. You have inspired me to start afresh tomorrow.

Great attitude, great work. Please, please keep this thread going.

Knew it, you're doing great even with flex! Been following this topic with interest, and looking forward to seeing more examples of your calligraphy, ongnon!

Haha, at this rate, all you'll need to master is offhand flourishing and border-making if you want to get into the business of making certificates from scratch. Now that would be a great way to kill time :P

Cheers!

Kevin
