Platinum 3776 - 18K Double Broad Nib

I know there have been a ton of reviews on the 3776 series in general, but I have not seen much about the "C" Double-Broad nib.

I actually really do like the platinum pens! in terms of wether or not Japanese pens are a go to for broad nibs, I really don't have a ton of personal references. this was actually my first Japanese pen I normally use either German, French, or American pens. However, if what I am led to believe is true, then Asian pens in general run about a size smaller than their western counterparts. In the case of this pen though, the double broad is fantastic and as soon as i dipped it i knew it would be mine.

I have the same exact one with a C nib! My writing is slightly bigger than yours and occasionally depending on the ink I find it a bit too broad for me... Are you happy with the C or think you should have gotten the B? I tried the M and B instore and found them far too similar and then sprung for a C!

Well, when I first bought the pen i was immediately upset that it was so broad, but now after actually using the pen for a while, it is one of my absolute favorites. It is so smooth and I think that it is also very beautiful with the very bold lines. There is something to be said for the strength of the C nib.

 

So i guess i was originally a little upset then it won me over, and I never actually tried any of the other styles, the deal I got was only for this exact pen, but I am thinking about buying one of the M or F nibs to compliment my C.

After fairly intensely using FPs for many years now, I'm transitioning to broader nibs, so you just saved yourself some time and money by getting started early. If you like shading, like changing inks often, and like watching ink dry with some sheen, broader nibs are the shiznitz.

I agree that broader nibs are the best, but sometimes i just need to use an extra-fine, though it pains me to do so...
