Marlen Aleph Fp.it Limited

I liked everything GP said about the Aleph except the size. When I read your review, I read "Waterman 100" but pictured my Waterman 200. Alas. I traded my Waterman 100 cos it was a tad too big for my hands, and I was excited that this pen was the 200 size. Except that it isn't. Drat.

I hear you about the getting to know when a pistonfiller without an ink window is running low on ink.

I'll probably wait to see if Marlen comes out with a tad smaller model with this nib.

This one is a beauty, though.

Not sure I get the question. The pen reviewed here is a limited edition, hence the number. The 'collection" word is not on the cap of the pen I have. But the Aleph is now a distinct collection Marlen, in other colors than the deep blue one. Does it answer your question? If not, please let me m ow and try to explain it to me with simple words. Thanks!

I apologize for asking a question outside of the topic. I was referring to the gray version. Maybe I should ask it in the other topic in the Italian subforum.

I also apologize for answering a question outside the topic.

Best regards

Mine is sitting next to my Conklin Crescent LE & the sizes are identical. Surprise to me when I laid them down together. The weight might make it fall into the ethernautrix camp of possibilities

No need for apologies since no mistake was done! I just wasn't sure about which pen you were asking, and since I never had the chance to see the regular Aleph... How do you like it? Edited by Namo

Once again, sorry for the quality of the pic. Hope this helps a little. The shape of the section makes all the difference, and the balance is better than the Man 100's for my hand. (Of course a Man 100 with the Aleph).

I'll try it over the weekend. I got it on wednesday. It came with some ink and needed some cleaning. But the overall appearance is quite good.

Oo, that's a nice photo, Namo! Thank you.

I'm trying to remember my Waterman 100. I remember I really, really liked the pen, but then the purge came (or a series of purges). I still have the 200, and I'm using a Nakaya Long Piccolo daily, which is probably about the same size. Hmm....

First negative. Tried loading my Aleph with a thinner ink (Herbin Green Apple - one of the scented line) and it is too dry and draggy. Getting skipping, which is disappointing after the lovely performance with Iroshizuku. Might try Diamine next and see how that performs. I wanted a brighter/lighter for scribbling in my books and this was NOT it. Sigh... :wallbash:

My Aleph is writing and flexing beautifully on a Rhodia Pad and filled with J.Herbin Éclat de Saphir. Delightful.

Update : Now using it regularly for a few weeks. Wonderful pen, I am still in love. Some points should be pointed though: the pen is picky about both inks and papers. As Parker Penman Saphir worked beautifully on Fabriano notebook, I did experience some problems with glossy papers (not Maruman Mnemosyn though, the pen works great with this one). Noodler's eel gruene Cactus was troublesome. Now using Diamond Monaco red. The pen seems to love it.

Looks like an exceedingly long nib...or is it just the photos?
