I've just ordered an Aurora Optima Nero Perla (cracked ice) color fountain pen. What I want to know is "Auroloide" plastic resin or celluoid? Thanks.

I've got an early (plain 14k nib) made with what they call Auroloid, and it has shrunk a little just like some of the old celluloid.

I understand the recipe was altered years ago to prevent this. So maybe it used to be true celluloid but no longer?

I'm not criticizing the material. I like the character.

Auroloide is a type of cellulose acetate. Celluloid is cellulose nitrate and is more unstable.

The earlier AURORA Optima shrinks because the dye they use has some problems.
