Many thanks for your photo.

How old could this be?

Seller told me he has this from 2007-2008

My mistake, seller told me it's from 2002-2004

Yes, again it definitely appears to be authentic. Mine was purchased just a few months ago. With how long MB has been in business and how long their products last, you're going to see manufacturing changes and differing authenticating factors.

I happened to find some other posts on this site with pictures of the same gold-ringed logo pen pouch like the one pictured here.

I keep thinking about selling some of my pens but all that happens is I keep acquiring more!

The pen socks illustrated serve the purpose of providing soft protection along the entire length of the pen, which the separators do not do. They stay in the case and the pens can be inserted or removed easily.

Where do you find those socks? are they home made?

I have one of these cases- the fins do not extend to the bottom so I am scared to put a pen in the middle slot because I fear it will rub the pens on each side. I have been looking for inserts but have been unable to find anything!

One idea I had was long felt pads that are sticky on the back side, like the softer Velcro strips maybe. But even without that, if they aren't 149s, I've experience no rubbing issues. The indentation in the front is for the clip to slide into so the pens stay in place. You can also slip the clip over the side of the case which is thinner.

Yes, the socks are homemade. I bought a soft acrylic winter scarf at the dollar store (Dollarama) and folded it in half length wise. I then used a sewing machine to stitch several parallel lines along the length of the scarf to make as many socks as you want. Vary the width between the parallel stitches to fit the diameter of the pen. This yields more pen socks than you would ever need out of one scarf in a very short period of time. I forgot to add in the cartoon that after cutting the sock from the scarf you turn it inside out to hide the two lengthwise stitches on the inside. Adds more padding too!

I guess the question is: would you trust the case with 2 einsteins and an "other"

Not to hijack this thread, just disappointed that the leather dividers do not extend to the bottom of the case :/

Oh trust me I was disappointed too because I'm not even sure that they're leather! The base of it is just plastic but wrapped with a material around it but it doesn't cover the top of the flaps. So if it's a scratchy material, that's right where the three rings rub up against as the pen goes in and out.

I personally trust my Legrand rollerball next to my Legrand ballpoint (in my two-pen case). Unless you're taking it in your pocket on a triathlon, I don't think they'd move around enough to make noticeable marks especially if you clip the pens in place :)

Hope this helps.!

I have the same Siena case and I have no problems putting my 149's and 146 in there. The divider is only 1cm down the pouch and does not go all the way down to the bottom. I have no worries about that either.

Lid is a bit stiff though.

Hello,

The Sienna pouches are the most replicated MB pouches. All the known to me replicas are made with the MB logo surrounded by yellow metal instead of white metal. All the replicas that I know had marked as well "Hamburg" instead of "Made in Germany".

That being said, it is very hard to say whether this pouch is genuine or not without knowing the exact production year and without actually examining closely the pouch while comparing it with an "established genuine pouch" from that same year.

The stitching is definitely not the same as the stitching used for these pouches produced after 2008 even though it is quite well made.

Regarding the separators in the 3 pens pouch, I use just the two side ones while leaving the centre slot free. So in fact I use the 3 pens pouch just for 2 pens :). This really solves the issue of having the pens getting in contact and scratching each other.

can you put some photos with your replicas to mark the differences?

as i said this pouch pen is at least 10 years old, i think 2002-2004, so i don't know if back in time they faked these as well.

For those who thought/said my mb pen pouch is fake, I found this auction on eBay, where the seller claims it's original. As you see from photos it has the same gold plated ring, like the one from my photos. I think mine is real

I wouldn't worry about the dividers. My Siena looks the same and has the same tag with the same chip attached. I did look at all 4 of my cases, not all Siena from MB and I will say they all have same white trim on snow cap, not gold. That said, it looks OK. My cases were all bought from boutiques or AD's but looks OK to me. And MB isn't LV not all their stuff across the board has serial numbers. I think you can avoid some this in future by buying from an AD or boutique, but looks OK.

Is nobody else bothered by MB trying to reduce cost by using dividers that don't even extend the length of the case? At this price point I expect much more. I love their other leather goods but will never trust my pens to their cases.

Have you look on the link? For me that looks very legit and authentic because it has the mb case and booklet, and the booklet appears to be true like others mb booklets from pens which I have.

After reading your posts Pitagora, it seems best if you buy exclusively from a MB boutique. For your peace of mind. You will never be sure of its authenticity otherwise.

Hello

every time you have Montblanc Hamburg on the leather pen cases, it s a case from at least 20 years , when germany was not unified

They put Germany afterwards like on the other Siena

I have a several Siena case, with the recent one, I am a little bit disappointed with the quality of leather compared to the siena form years 2000 which were in a better quality of leather. please provide me your feedback

that s it

which is a recommended cases for the Heritage 1912 ?

I don't think there is enough space for the 149 there. I want a three pen pouch to have the 2x Le Grand in it, and the 149. At the Montblanc you will not find a pleasing one. Also I don;t like the dividers don't go all the way down to the bottom.
