How about the Pelikan M600 (blue) or M605 Marine blue (really blue)? Might be out of your price range.

I think Levenger's Cobalt blue is a pretty good match to the picture you posted.

sadiemagic - I suspect you're thinking of kwzi in the thread "less thought - more hey look" here on the inky thoughts subforum.

Grainweevil: What pen did you use to write that beautiful blue italic text at the bottom of your last post here? A Pilot Parallel?

Spot on; Pilot Parallel. Recently acquired and far too much fun to be legal.

I finally got my hands on sample vials of Noodler's Ottoman Azure and Noodler's Liberty's Elysium.

Which of these two do you think is a better match for TARDIS blue?

Both are lovely blues. I'm leaning towards the Liberty's Elysium, maybe because that shade of blue appeals to me a little more, and maybe because this one seemed to flow better while I was testing it. But I think the Ottoman Azure is a beter match for TARDIS blue.

Great gift idea for a Doctor Who fan. The journal should be easy to find. Ink is easy enough too.

Where can one find a Sonic Screwdriver fountain pen?

Barnes & Noble used to have Sonic Screwdrivers and other Dr. Who stuff. Also I vote for Namiki Blue.

Oooohm I think that Noodler's Liberty Elysium is spot on! Oh wait! Now I've seen the other and I can't make up my mind.

With all the hundreds of different colors one would think Noodler would have a Tardis Blue by now.

From suggestions above -- Diamine Majestic Blue is very similar to Shocking Blue.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Midway Violet (Midway Blue + North African Violet). Mix until you find to the perfect Tardis blue.

I would think that the color would be only one part of it. The ink I picture would be flat, little to no shading, and with absolutely no sheen. That leads me to think about Noodler's. Perhaps Blue, Bernanke Blue, Blue American Eel, Ottoman Azure, Liberty's Elysium. I think Midway Blue would have too much of a green tinge.

Flat and non-shading? How about Noodler's Luxury Blue and Polar Blue?
