Hello! I just wanted to thank you for this review, which was really helpful to me. I've been given one of these beautiful pens for my birthday and am just waiting for the delivery of the particular ink that I want to use in it, so I haven't been able to try it yet. I'm getting impatient :)

UK-based pen fan. I love beautiful ink bottles, sealing wax, scented inks, and sending mail art. Also, thanks to a wonderful custom-ground nib by forum member Bardiir, I'm currently attempting calligraphy after years of not being able to do so due to having an odd pen-grip :D

To this and others, my apologies for the big hiatus. As noted I am young and I believe in the video I just started college and been going at it since then so anyway:

At the time I bought the pen directly from TWSBI because originally I wanted to buy it from the Goulet Pen Company however they were out of the Fine. I'll do a post-usage report some time later (Finals for me), but I love how springy the nib is (I doubt it's the Rose Gold plating). You could get decent line variation but nowhere near a Noodler's or Fountain Pen Revolution Flex. The supply should still be there as of this writing for both the Goulet's and TWSBI.

Also suggestion, use one of the J. Herbin Anniversary inks, I love seeing the sparkles swirl around in the barrel (and the ease of taking it apart alleviates any potential clogging problems). For me with a blue ink inside (54th Massachusetts at the moment), I call it the Atlantis Pen or Kida (after Kida of Disney's "Atlantis: The Lost Empire").

Thanks for that info - I'm now the proud owner of a bottle of Bleu Océan and of Rouge Hematite, but I've been hesitant to deploy them in my TWSBI 540/480 pens. Sounds like I should give it a go!
