New Pens On Asapens

Thanks for the encapsulated review of the Athlete! I for one, am glad it has a #6 nib - not for showing off, as most likely the only one looking at it will be me - but for some pens, even medium sized, I do like that slightly larger nib. Somehow the pen feels better balanced. Crazy, I know, but since it does not bother anyone, I just indulge... especially if the #6 are smoother than what I had on before.

What nib did you swap in?

What nib did you swap in?

Dual Tone Wality Fine.

Though the stock nibs are good looking, it seemed to me bit large compared to FP + that in my opinion there is curvature mismatch & even after tine adjustment, i was having ink outages.

I put my savings to test

Lamy & Pilot FPs the Best

No more I even think of the rest

(Preference Fine and Extra Fine Nibs)

If u look closely at Sudhir's pic above, you can see that even there the tines are unusually separated even at tip

Yes it does seem that way, and that's probably why it wasn't a perfect writing experience... Pity. That nib looks like a few I've found on some Chinese pens, and there they are very good writers.

If the Wality fits, I think you're right in your estimate of curvature mismatch...

Yes try to avoid visiting that site as I have bought a lotta pens and still keep buying more gama pens

I think, you might have to keep visiting that site for some more time - as under its own brand ASA would be coming out with more exciting models than even Gama.

These silver overlays are beautiful. I have to ask what you have to pay to obtain one.

This one is with gold nib. For price you have to contact ASA.

My green ripple Athlete arrived today. It has a single, silver tone nib that does not have the usual 5 lobed clover. It was tested by ASA Pens before shipment (blue ink) and writes very nicely. I hope to take some photos tomorrow. In the package was also an Oliver Moti. The Moti is a semi-hooded, metal clad, eye dropper fill pen. The interior of the body is plastic with a metal shell. It is a nice little pen that rights a nice wet fine. Again, I hope to take some pictures when the sun in up.

As I mentioned previously, my ASA Athlete arrived the other day. It is a nice green ripple. It has performed flawlessy and I have been writing with it for the last couple of days. The long section ensures that your fingers never rest on the threads. It is a wonderful pen

The nib is suprisingly soft.

The body is not a cylinder but rather has a bit of a bulge in the waist. I fits my hand well.

The ripple is a deep green. I attempted to show it here but the sun washes all color.

I also received an Oliver Moti. It is a extra fine/fine semi-hooded pen. It works very well and I have been carrying out of the house with no problems. It writes quite nicely on cheaper paper.

An out of focus picture meant to show the semi-hooded nib.

Bliss.

Very nice pics. Seems ASA takes extra care regarding nibs when it dispatches abroad. That steel nib color suits the pen - though i am scepticle regarding suitability of the #6 size (35 mm) for Athlete.

I have thought of changing the nib for another but it writes so well. Perhaps I should buy another Athlete and change the nib on that one.

That is a site that Anup (a_m) identified. ASAPens periodically puts up new photos of pens they have available. Some are not on the sales site.
