Wondeful review, thanks for compiling this! I have tried many of these pens over the years and it's great to have a reference like this to point some newbies to.

I agree with some of the previous posters. If you want simple quality and a pen that works, go Japanese. You didn't review them, so I am not sure if you have them or not, but Sailor Pens are great, specifically the 1911 series. The 1911M is my go to edc/pocket pen.

Yup, I own a 1911L Rhodium/Black in MF, and a Pro Gear Imperial Black in F. Obviously these don't qualify for under $100, but Sailor nibs are, in my opinion, the very best hard nib money can buy. I would buy a 1911M over a Custom 74 any day of the week.

Like every review I appreciate this is subjective. In my world P45 would make the cut. For me writing with a heavy pen is like driving an underpowered car. Its okay for a brief grocery shopping trip but useless for a real journey.

Inked: Sailor King Pro Gear, Sailor Nagasawa Proske, Sailor 1911 Standard, Parker Sonnet Chiselled Carbon, Parker 51, Pilot Custom Heritage 92, Platinum Preppy
