Vermont? You must be thinking of New Hampshire.

Vermont has the only openly socialist Senator, so I doubt he'd enjoy Vermont too much.

In some respects, I almost find it impressive that a guy like Nathan can be that elusive, yet have such a prominent profile among some pretty passionate folks.

Nathan looks very clean cut. I always imagined him with more mad scientist hair  .

Regardless of his politics, I love a good bit of his ideology and his inks are amazing. His videos on youtube are also a great resource to learn from. I'll have to make it to the Boston Pen Show one of these years in an attempt to meet him.

I haven't heard anything about there being one this year, unfortunately.

I know my id is "mhosea", but you can call me Mike. It's an old Unix thing.

I spoke with Nathan once on the phone. In my professional life I was a process engineer and he was looking for a way to manufacture his inks and pens faster. It was rather funny that he said he didn't have the finances to cover the costs of a consultant. I reccomended several books to him that would help him out. He was very smart and diligent on what he wanted to accomplish.

I really enjoy using his pens and inks. I wish he would do more YouTube videos since they have so much information.

If he was on a lamb, I'm pretty sure he'd be caught real fast. :)

Sorry, couldn't resist.

LOL. Fixed it. Thanks.

His pens and inks are great and he's obviously an intelligent and dedicated guy. I can easily believe that he doesn't have the money for consultant, small businesses often don't make a big profit and consultants are very, very expensive (good ones at least, terrible ones are only pretty expensive), plus Massachusetts really does have some outrageous taxes on small businesses (and moving is very, very expensive when you have to move labs full of delicate equipment, plus there's uprooting the supply chain).

Check out Brian Goulet's great interview with Nathan at http://www.inknouveau.com/2014/04/goulet-q-episode-26-nathan-tardif.html - some really good information about Noodlers and about Nathan. (BTW - no affiliation to either Brian or Nathan)

He is an interesting person. He has been a regular at the Boston/New England pen Shows during the years they have run. As for picture availability, he appears very similar to the '03 picture.

He operates a one-person "show" and does all the work himself and seems to be constantly on the go. His interview with was done from about 9:40 pm to 10:40 pm. He even explains why there are sometimes shortages of specific inks and about the challenges of selling in the European Market.

IMHO, I think that too often, unless we have direct, RECENT, first hand experience running a very successful small business, we have NO IDEA the stresses and circumstances that must be dealt with. One small, inadvertent error and, thanks to social media, the Internet and our wonderful (sic) government, a business is totally vulnerable to instant censure, and potential bankruptcy/ dissolution.

Bravo Nathan for your work, your products, and your unique personhood.

I thought Vermont didn't have a high enough welfare to attract any one; there for less taxes.

I'm not really up on what state is what...but thought it so the two weeks I spent there some 20-25 years ago.

That and folks carried bear pistols in their car...and a few for then conservative carry laws.

In reference to P. T. Barnum; to advise for free is foolish, ........busybodies are ill liked by both factions.

Ransom Bucket cost me many of my pictures taken by a poor camera that was finally tossed. Luckily, the Chicken Scratch pictures also vanished.

Nathan is quite the character, and his inks reflect him well. I love his inks, and respect the man and his methods!

He is also really interesting to talk with, I've had the pleasure in the past. I would enjoy meeting him one day.

Well, we won't discuss the relative politics of New England states here. Suffice it to say that if any other state nearby would appeal to Nathan, it would be the one with the motto "Live Free or Die!". :)

I respect the man for what he has done in the field of ink and pens. I believe he is very dedicated to his craft. I hope one day to have the oppourtunity to meet him. I can't imagine the effort he puts in to be able to supply us with the tools to allow us to enjoy the art of pen and ink.

My hat is tipped to this man who will no doubt be a legend in this art. I wish there was a "Hall of Fame" for people like him for he truely belongs there.
