Ahh ... that was too easy, thanks! :)

It is a gorgeous pen, btw (I got the black with CT trim one)

and you must remember it's ST (silver plated trim)

All my catalogues state silver plated trim. I wonder if they now chrome plate. I shall enquire through my contact.

But what have we here, ST.

I have emailed CS to determine where the Gloss Black stands.

Just an update on the ST CT aspect and my question to Waterman, France.

Quote from Consumer Service,

Our marketing department should work on our web site and proceed to some modifications very soon.

So has it been a typo for a long while.

I also asked about the ceasing of production of Edson pens...no answer. So I have repeated that question.

My Carene leaks around the nib. I tend to hold it low, between the two wings of the nib. Is that too low? When I uncap it, I see ink in the tines, which I ignore on other pens -- looks like the pen has been working hard. Is it, however, a sign that the nib might be loose?

Otherwise, writes beautifully hand feels just right in my hand. Medium nib, by the way

I own multiple Carenes, one of which exhibits the creep you describe (multiple threads on this topic if you search Carene leaking). I currently have my Carene out for service as I understand issues with the adhesive can cause this issue but be resolved with a relatively easy fix.

Anyway, as far as where to hold the pen, I tend to hold mine 1/2 way up the section; anything lower is too low for me and throws off the balance of the pen.

Best,

John

I cannot say where you are holding it is wrong but I place finger/thumb on the section to barrel line for comfort, balance and to maintain clean pinkies. Having removed a number of nibs from the grip I can say some have very little adhesive and others are well bonded. One of the proposed methods for sealing (re-sealing) the nib to the grip was to apply a minute amount of shellac around the wings. Obviously the section must be washed out and left to fully dry before doing this.
