Who wouldn't guess this would be suggested? Akkerman!!!!

I bought a large bottle of Akkerman #13 Simplisties Violet and would like to buy a small bottle of their IG ink. These are really beautiful and unique bottles (and the ink is nice too). Edited by carlos.q

- Akkerman. The most unique bottle.

- Herbin Rouge hematite. Very classical style and unique ink.

- Montegrappa, Nice looking bottle (inks nothing particular).

- Visconti, the old glass ones are very nice.

- Diamine. Old style looking, functional, and inks are wonderful.

- Aurora. Another old style looking and black ink is the best of the blacks.

- I don't have but very nice is also the Caran d'Ache.

Vintage Skrip Inks just for the little inkwells in the top of the bottles :P

Not particularly stylish, but useful.

Otherwise the long rectangular Montblanc bottles, cuz they both look nice and have that functional hump.

A few:

Akkerman

J Herbin Rouge Hematite

Visconti

Iroshizuku

A few that I currently own:

Diamine (quite a nice classic looking bottle)

MB Winter Glow (my absolute favorite bottle)

MB Honore De Balzac

Pilot Blue-Black (always been a big fan of the bottle)

Noodler's Libery's Elysium (cool label)

I like those Skrip bottles as well, and have managed to save a few from the early 1990s. There is a problem that the caps eventually rust. I need to find Bakelite caps that fit to replace them.

The old style Montblanc curved shoe bottle is more attractive than the current squared off style.

I bought an empty old Skrip bottle to put other inks in. Wish I'd kept the scores of them I pitched back in the day.

Waterman bottles are equally useful when reused.

I love this thread, some of the bottles are beautiful.

Personally I've purchased two bottles of Akkerman (Parkpop Purple and Shocking Blue) more for the inks inside. I always have to stop myself from purchasing a bottle of Edelstein too as I know I wouldn't find the ink saturated enough but God those bottles are beautiful.

I"ve never purchased ink just for the bottle. Ha Ha

I've gone and done it..

Just ordered 5 Akkerman Inks... The "5 bottles is the same postage price as 3" did it to me.

I think I'll be gifting some to my friends.

Next on the short list:

Caran d'ache Chromatics Idyllic Blue

Edelstein Topaz

Maybe a Bung Box Happiness (The label gives me a chuckle)

I actually use that SQL book.

You'll love all those colors. I haven't tried #30, if you can send me a quick note written with it, whenever you get around to it, I'll include it in a future fade test.

Yes, but which one? Big or small? I favor the smaller ones...

I think all the larger ones are gone. They are only selling the newer/smaller bottles now.

Personally I would never acquire this for myself, but this would be for a sweetheart - the J. Herbin heart-shaped bottle:

Cute as decoration, and usually contains scented ink, but you can't fill fromthe bottle with a pen.
