unlike my first mb(Alfred hitchcock)...it has the potential for becoming an everyday carry...as I won't have to worry about spoiling it by mistake.

another plus is that it is cartridge/convertor pen...I find it easier to change ink in them.

even though they are not considered luxurious I prefer then.

on first receiving the pen I was a little bit disappointed, as it felt very light(I usually use metal bodied pens like sheaffer legacy heritage, modern parker premier , waterman carene, cross townsend etc ) but after using the pen for 2 day...I like it a lot.

the nib is very smooth and just glides on paper. it hasn't skipped and start as soon as it touches the paper. has good ink flow...I preffer wetter nibs as they tend to make the shading in inks more pronounced.

I was curious, the clip has made in Germany , and pix written under the clip(as shown in the last picture) but no serial no... do the montblanc generation pens have a serial no?

I had 2 Generation pens in the past and I really liked them due to their very classic and elegant shape. To my best knowledge, Generation series do not carry a serial number. A very good find. Enjoy your pen.

It looks the part, writes well, you are happy with it and,as you say, you can use it as a daily writer. What more can you ask for? Happy writing! :)

Some generation pens will have a serial number some will not. I don't know the start off date for when they started placing serial numbers on them but it will be located on the top ring right under the MB star on the reverse side from the clip. Some do not have them. What is going to be the tell tale to if your pen is authentic (which I'm assuming it is) is if authentic refills fit. And the nib. I don't have enough knowledge on the generation line to tell you but the best thing to do would be too post some clear good quality photos of the nib and some close ups of the body all around the entire area of the pen!

there was no serial no. on the ring. I used original montblanc cartridge, it fits like a glove....I am sure it is authentic...as I have seen the nib under the 40x loupe and the impressions are nice and deep and then there is iridium tipping...

I just wanted to know if all generations came without serial no.s. ... thank you for your interest and your info. :)
