Nefa Fountain Pen Repair

Recommended Posts

I have a Nefa fountain pen than I would like to put back into service, but I am not sure I have all the parts. (I do have a pen sac ready to install).

I can't quite figure out how this pen would go together. Any help would be appreciated. Picture below...

More whimsy, less gravitas.

You just need a new sac (assuming the other parts are still in original shape). It is a button filler, so the pressure bar goes into the body with the straight metal end in the button, and the section would screw in and hold the pressure bar in place. Should be an easy fix if none of the parts are damaged. I've had broken pressure bars before where the metal was brittle and broke, but your pressure bar looks good.

Just be sure the sac goes in on the flat side of the pressure bar so that when the bar flexes the flat part pushes on the sac. Pressure bar goes in the same way you have it in the photo, in which case the sac would be on the "top" as it were.

Thanks Graham,

I appreciate your input. Now to put that pen back in working condition.

Good luck! Would love to see the pen if you worked on it with Maas or Simichrome polish. Any plans to buff it out? Seems like it would come to life rather quickly.
