could the flo-plus alone fix the problem?

For legibility I need all the saturation I can get from it. I don't like the idea of diluting it.

I keep my Dad's 1948 Parker 51 loaded with it, regular flushes with water (about weekly) seem to keep hard starts down. I'd look at your pen, not the ink.

I don't want an ink that requires regular weekly flushes to keep hard starts down. That's very high maintenance.

The pen has worked great with several dozen inks. This is the first hard starting ink. Loaded it up with a couple new inks after and no problems nor hard starts.

Noodler's is made in batches.

Edit: I don't wish to fiddle with it either unless I absolutely can't find a better behaved blue ink of some sorts with enough degree of water resistance.

Flo-Plus could fix the problem--there is no know, there is only try.

Very saturated inks like Noodlers are capable of withstanding quite a bit of dilution before their appearance changes.

Since you're providing such advice I presume you may have some experience on the matter....

Do you have experience with Flo-plus? Has it helped with hard starts for you if you have? cuz for the price of the flo-plus I'd rather get an ink that doesn't have such high maintenance problems.

I have used Flo-Plus in certain inks and in certain pens that were hard starters with good results. It can be useful when you don't anticipate that situation, or if the ink has other properties that you want. OTOH, you can stick to inks that have good flow properties built in, such as the new line of Monteverde inks. I have tried several of these with great results, and the price is right.

I might have to take your advice. It is on my list of experiments. Thank you for the suggestion

I saw someone describe success mixing Noodler's Heart of Darkness with Elysium on a respective thread, so I will definitely try that first since I have HoD available.

But I like the idea of Flo-Plus and having a blue like this work. Definitely would be nice to have this ink with better flow properties.

Depends, I guess. That's my regular routine when re-filling. Dad didn't bother, but he refilled it every morning before leaving for work, fwiw, he used Parker's Quink, in black.
