Toucan Sienna Ink

Of all the inks produced by Tintex for their Toucan range, this would probably have to be the most striking - though for whatever reason it's not one I find regularly in my rotation. A dark, 'burnt orange' kind of colour, that varies considerably in shade depending on the wetness of the pen, the thickness of the line etc. Hardly surprising that it's one of their better sellers.

Have 'migrated' from my Sony phone camera to a Sony camera - hopefully the photographic image will be a little sharper, and truer to the colour...

(p.s. Please forgive the typo - I *know* Sheaffer should be spelt Sheaffer, but in the heat of the moment I got it wrong...)

Wow, I would have thought this color would be boring, but it's really quite interesting.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Yep, an interesting browny-orange. It's a bit darker than Noodler's Apache Sunset, and doesn't have the same amazing shading characteristics (Apache Sunset goes from yellow to a dark amber - very hard to replicate!), but I had a go at getting a closer match by mixing this ink with Toucan Orange to lighten it up. Then, to make it a little lighter still, I added some 'Primrose' (a light yellow ink that really won't work well in a fountain pen), and (to my eyes at least) I had a somewhat comparable colour. 2 parts sienna; 2 parts orange; 1 part primrose / yellow. Probably not as dark as Apache Sunset at its darkest - and again, without the wild variation in colour - but it shades pretty nicely, and it'll do me for now!
