The place where the dot is located can help to identify the decade. "Q" means 1990, ".Q" means 2000, "Q." means 2010

If it has the cursive P logo with the arrow sticking up then it is one of the more modern UK-made Jotters from the 2000s. Parker used that logo from 2000 until 2010 when they went back to the older "Halo" logo.

thanks a lot, sounds like that solves it. figured it was some sort of variation/using up old stock since jotter tends to do that.

There's some discrepancies with the date code list you posted a link to

between 2000 and 2009 there should be a dot after the last quarter letter code, Q., U., A. etc.

the date codes used from 2010 onwards (presumably up to 2019?) are the same dates codes repeated from 1990 and 1999 not those used between 2000 and 2009.

It's also worth mentioning that Parker have used different logos in each of the last 3 decades. In the 1990s they used the older halo & arrow logo, in the 2000s the scrolled P logo was used and from 2010 they reverted to using the halo & arrow logo although this differs from the pre 2000 version because the halo is larger, which helps to identify decade of production especially where repeated date codes are used.

HTH :)
