Small Case From 2-Cigar Box

I've always been a handy sort of fellow, and I decided to try my hand at making a small pen case out of a cigar box.

 

My nephew is a cigar smoker and used to manage a tobacconist's, so I rummaged through his collection for a box that I thought would work.

 

When I found this small, 2 cigar box, I thought it would be fun.

 

With some copper brown adhesive felt (lining), some book repair tape (hinge reinforcement), a piece of marbled paper (cover), and some diluted latex glue (decoupage), I came up with this. See pics.

 

I only made two divisions, and they are pretty large, so I could really fit 4 pens in the case.

 

I used the copper felt and the turquoise and copper marbled paper as I had this project in mind for storage of my Retro 1951 copper pens.

 

I think it works pretty well, except for the extra space. Maybe I need to add a couple more copper toned pens to my collection? I've got my eye on an Esterbrook J in copper. Any other suggestions?

 

I'd like to get your feedback. What do you think?
