I can't believe no one mentioned Iroshizuku Ajisai. Purple blue is exactly what it is.

It's not that I have anything against their inks other than the price. There are plenty of good inks around that cost much less than Iroshizuku

There is a UK eBay seller that has NOS bottles of Rotring Ultramarine Blue for sale. Its a very nice purpley blue. I don't have a scanner to do a sample of my own, but here's a couple of links of reviews.

They have it it priced very reasonably. In fact, cheap enough that it seemed reasonable even shipped to the US. I think in the UK shipping is free. For 4 pounds, the risk is minimal.

I was playing with BSB when i first git it in a preppy and while tinkering with diluting it i added about 25% water and when it came out of the pen it was blue/purple. Sometimes looks blue, sometimes purple.... i didnt like it but it seems to fit the bill of what youre asking for.... its vibtant too...

Here is #13 Akkerman S.V. which is a real violet with BSB.

One of the great things about BSB is that you can fill an empty BSB pen with water and still have a nice blue ink. So burn me at the stake too B)

Seek that which is true, beautiful, and good.

Diamine Bilberry is a wonderful purple blue ; try different dilutions with sterile water to bring out the shading

I'd echo the many recommendations for Diamine Bilberry, which is a good dark purple-blue and also considerably more affordable than many of the exotic alternatives! As you're in the UK, it's easily available in many of the fountain pen specialist sites, and direct from the manufacturers here http://www.diamineinks.co.uk/

No love for Iroshizuku Ajisai?

If that's not 'Purpley Blue', I don't know what is.

In a world where there are no eyes the sun would not be light, and in a world where there were no soft skins rocks would not be hard, nor in a world where there were no muscles would they be heavy. Existence is relationship and you're smack in the middle of it.

I'd like to try it however it is expensive so I would have to be 100% sure I like it before I would buy it.

Well u can always get samples to try for a follar or two first...

Maybe binder blurple might work for you but thats more of a bluey purple.... maybe if u changed the mix to 2:1 instead of 1:1 waterman blue:waterman purple it might be bluer....

Yeah, I was thinking if anyone had mentioned Binder Blurple. I mixed some up and it's... purpley blue. I don't like it as well as either of the orignial colors, though.

Goulet's ink drop just did a Blurple month.. scroll back a couple months to January: http://www.gouletpens.com/Ink_Drop_Archive_s/1081.htm

I really like Noodler's Purple Martin. Pilot Iroshizuku Murasaki-shikibu is a very nice blue-purple.
