Retina Searing Inks -- Inks So Vibrant, They Are Blinding

I just bought some Diamine Soft Mine and Diamine Claret which I think might fit the bill. I've gotta say, I love this thread. I'm loving all the eye popping colors.

I really love Diamine Claret, and what I love more is J. Herbin Rose Cyclamen. They are bright, and always can catch the eye...

Hmm... got any pics?

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

How about a real eye-popping red? I see a LOT of good reds out there, and some of them are very RED, like Skrip, etc.

But how about one that makes your eyes want to jump out of your head and take cover behind your skull?

Okay, you have me. I don't have Hellfire. Is that one of the highlighter inks? I have Djinn of the Eternal Flame which is actually on the chalky side. Here it is with a blue (noodler's).

Djinn of the Eternal Flame? Not familiar with that one. If that's the reddish one that you used for the flowers here, it may be chalky but it's kind of a pretty color.

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

It is pretty. I got it from Swishers years ago.

Noodler's QSH, but it's so annoying to use.

:P Surprised you haven't tried CaD Electric Orange in terms of retina searing

Though not as bad as Diamine Coral, have to photograph it because scanning just doesn't seem to show it the same way.

Hmm.... It didn't turn out that orange for me. I am going to retry it in a broad nib.

It is a super dry writer compared to my typical choices. Here's how it appeared for me.

Between us, I loved BSB from its beginning, years ago, but God, that corrosive rusty fame, its like a temptation, I have to try it even if it means to sacrifice one of my fpens.

I also found Apple Glory to be really really bright. I have a nice note from Goulet Pens written in that ink. I typically don't like green but it was so bright it made me consider buying the ink.

I'll keep on struggling, 'cause that's the measure of a man.

It was one of those notes from Goulet that prompted me to add a sample to my next order. Tricky marketing they've got there! I am a big fan of greens though, just usually not that bright.

So many inks, so little time...

Now that I have one of those super cheep Noodler's Ink Eye Droppers, I'm giving some serious thought to making it a Baystate only pen, starting with Blue.

They're what comes with the 4.5oz bottle, and a fine pen to scribble around with the Baystate colors. I've resisted the mild urge to get the others; all I have is blue.

HMMMM>... #4 was not reformulated and it is BLUE (a purple blue, but BLUE). My bottle will be in tomorrow and we'll do another comparison.

So... While I would normally not consider red to be retinal searing... this new Montblanc Red is beautifully bright.
