it's finally with me, and what a beauty it is:

that's an 18K B-stub nib, and supposedly it's a no. 8, but guess what--here it is next to a bexley giant with a no. 12 nib, and it just dwarfs the bexley.

that's not just the camera angle; the nib is huge (and sweetly smooth). i'll take more pictures of it beside my agatha, whose nib also looks puny next to the aptly named goliath. many thanks again, max!

That looks like a #6 on the Bexly. Not all the Giants came with the #12.

That's a nice looking Astoria.

I hope you like the larger nib. I find they have a good amount of spring to them.

yes, i love the springiness of the #8 nib!

i had another pen come in yesterday (one you'll surely recognize) and it made a fine pair with the goliath:

I like the looks of this pen! I'm new to FPN. Does someone have a link to a website where I can purchase one of these beauties? Thanks so much!

and just to add, i think i paid 1125 euro for mine, as it was a kind of custom job (the pearl and black normally takes the smaller #6 nib, but i asked for the #8). well worth the differential, imho.

Just received my black/pearl Goliath with the new big nib and pump filly system from Max. I haven't had the opportunity yet to really write much with it, but I did ink the nib and test it out-- it is a beautiful pen and writes effortlessly. The pen is substantial, authoritative without being dominating, and you can feel that quiet authority and quality through your fingers with every stroke. Just a great pen!

I have always liked the looks of an MB 139. I like all the photos of the Goliaths. One of these days . . . .

I'm still trying to figure out how to list all my pens down here.
