Haha. Well. What if I don't shave my back hair and instead of smoking a cigar I can use a plastic pipe and blow bubbles?

Errrrrrrrrrrrr......................OK, you're in!

On a more serious note! I am very curious about the k flex ( now that I have one on the way) misterboll, what is the line like on your k flex with zero pressure. Does it still put Down a nice wet line or us it more subdued until you get the flex going. What I'm try to ask is, can the pen be used without pressure and flexing? Or are your line going to be to faint and thin? Thanks misterboll.

The beauty of the k nib is that it can write with regular pressure and you get a wee bit of line variation - in essence writing like a regular nib with a wonderful wet line. Should you apply more pressure and fancy up your writing then you have a majestic full flex that rivals or surpasses the finest vintage nib.

That's exactly what I was hoping to hear. Thanks misterboll.

In the interest of complete and total club disclosure - you'll have to grow a beard and smoke Cuban cigars.

Well, I'm in, as I took the plunge this morning and went for a EO #9 !!!!

Do I have grow beard and smoke at same time?.....

;)

Hmm. I'm gonna compare the pictures I have online to my pen. It might just be my terrible pictures

Well, might be.... ;) however, when pen is shown sideways section doesn't look quite as long.....although still looks a bit long..... ;)

We should start two clubs: the Hakase Hawks, and the Romillo Rats

I dutifully nominate myself as president of both :D

Too many pens; too little writing.

I like it! We can smoke cigars while contemplating the value of honor and how some of the ideas in bushido could benefit the young kids of today.

Almost forgot the most important part. We can also "play pen" as my wife likes to call it.

Wanted to note: after using the pen non stop since I received it I have noticed a neat little feature. I don't know if it's the rather large feed or filling system but I can leave the pen uncapped for fairly long stretches (I'm talking 5 minutes or so) and the nib does not dry out. The ink I first had in the pen(R&K scabiosa) is a notorious hard starter when the pen is left uncapped( at least for me) On all my other pens I've used scabiosa in, if left uncapped would dry out relatively quickly. Not the Romillo. The pelikan edelstein I have in it now performs the same. Just thought I'd note this. Once again, not sure what the cause of this is but I find it a pleasant surprise.

Hi Sblakers,

About the nib - you opted for the firm F, no regrets after a few days?

Is it very rigid? Any other nib you can compare it to?

I'm still hesitating (my order is in line but I guess I still have a little time to change my mind).

(Thanks for your input, again!)

Yes I got a firm fine. It still has a little spring to it however(which I love ). Well, let's put it this way. I've used the pen everyday and am now afraid I won't touch any of my other pens, including my mb139. That's how good the nib is! The more I use it the less I want to use anything else. I just loaded it with pelikan edelstein topaz and the richness of the line it produces is amazing. It's hard to compare it to any nib I've ever used, the feedback is very much like a vintage pelikan 100, but the forgiveness of writing angle makes it much more comfortable to use. The fact that the nib is huge also changes the experience. It's different than my 139 nib because of the beak like shape to the nib. It's more forgiving and comfortable to write with but it still has a similar feedback to my 139. My 139 has way more flex as.

This is the "one pen " as far as I am concerned.

Thanks! This confirms my initial choice (firm EF).

Just "the one," hm? What's going to happen after you receive your Soul?

I'm giggling, cos I understand completely (me and my "the one" Nakayas).

Haha that's a good point. Well, if it's close to as nice as my eo it will be "the 2". :)
