To eat at Cafe Salina it helps to be a Lint Denier if not a Lint Loather. On an accidentally linked subject, I'd say the late Benoit Mandelbrot would be in his element if he found himself reading the Cafe Salina's menu.

Do you ever get the feeling there are people reading this that do not understand? That feeling is usually followed by another.

Ooo, people getting together. Not sure I can make it tomorrow, that's short notice. The 16th, maybe.

I hesitate to ask, but will, being new: What's a PPPC?

I myself sometimes do not understand. I believe there are philosophers (whose names are familiar to people who went to school more recently than I did) for whom the possibility of sending a correctly-received message outside the checksum domain is very limited. In my own view, understanding can be disastrously clear, not just disastrously unclear. And a little fog can take the sharp edges off.

Cafe Salina for spam? Isn't Peter's the place for spam (as in spam, spam, spam, eggs, and spam)?

I don't think anyone is even close to bashing any brand. Making note of the number of a particular brand's nibs that don't work out of the box and need to be tweaked just to work, maybe... but that's not bashing, is it? (seriously)

On the 15th PPPC is the Pan Pacific Pen Club

On the 16th PPPC is the Pen Posse-Peter's Cafe

You can make them all.

@ Lou Erickson and perhaps others: PPPC means Pan Pacific Pen Club. To find out more, either ask The Authorities, whose identities may be found in this very forum, in the meeting notice, or consult a search engine and leave yourself open for adventure.

I thank tenney for exculpating us from any accusation of brand-bashing. I think the mods came to a similar conclusion, unless perhaps Sketchy has been banned without our knowing about it yet.

Actually, it'll be bashing on Italian pen day, as I have a Delta with a birth defect that needs help or a hammer.

I think I'm still here. Wish I could have made it to the Pen Posse today. Someday I'll learn that combining a trip to the South Bay for dog training and a posse is always problematic. I also wish I could call my Stipulas fountain pens but they have to actually put ink in definable lines on paper first. It's a rule.

As an architect I can understand your consternation with respect to a pen that will not rule when expected.

The "Architect Point" that John Mottishaw put on my vanishing point finally arrived and I would have loved to share it today. It is really quite delightful.

Sadly, I was not able to make this week. As I said, short notice. I'm down in the south bay, so a trip up there puts a big hole in the day.

I'll try to make it up at least once, if not twice, next weekend. I've found other PPPC post and will see you if I can see you.

If you're half as entertaining in person, it'll be worth the trip. :)

Thanks for the info, and for making a new person feel so welcome.

We are approximately half as entertaining in person.

But we are much greater than the sum of our parts.

What do you want me to do with the nib lint you left in the box?

Just tell me this: how much did you guys break today?

I don't think we broke anything, but there was a lot of caffeine involved.

We can weave it into a thread one of these days.
