Here's a nice, heavily shading ink from Private Reserve that I enjoyed reviewing. However, I still think Apache Sunset—more saturated, even heavier shading—is the better orangey/yellowy ink. Apache Sunset is the benchmark by which all other shade-heavy orange/yellow inks are judged. Still though, Shoreline Gold is a great ink most definitely worth a try. :)

Thanks. I agree with you... if AS didn't exist, I'd buy this Shoreline. It seems unfortunately in comparison to AS a bit watered out, or I still look down too much towards the water to see the reddening sky above just above it.

It looks like a nice ink, but I'm not a huge fan of orange/yellow inks (although I have happily made an exception for Apache Sunset) so I am not likely to buy it.

I like it a lot. One of my favourite inks for flex pens, because of how well behaved it is and the wonderful shading. I personally find the slightly more washed out look and less intense colours of Shoreline Gold over Apache Sunset.

I think I like it more than AS (not that I have much of a use for either - orange inks aren't really my thing) because the shading seems more gradual. The quite sudden color changes I see with AS are not really my idea of shading. Thanks for the beautiful review! :-)

Any opinions on Apache Sunset vs. Shoreline Gold vs. Edelstein Amber? I know of the last two --and like them both very well, but I do not know the first. Significantly different and more complex?

You can see Apache Sunset in the sample at the start of this thread. It is more fiery, a stronger and starker mixture of deep-red-orange and gold. Not so much a blend of shading of one color, but more a mixture of two colors that appear to separate (in a sense).
