Yet Another Diy Midori

Like many others here, I shirked at the cost of those lovely Midori journals...but still wanted one.

 

Taking inspiration from you clever FPNers, I came up with my own design that takes two of the little Clairefontaine 9x14cm books. It also has a pen loop and two bookmarks built in.

 

I'm new to being crafty and am always looking for ways to improve things, so any suggestions are most welcome.

 

I tried to paste some images in here but got an error message. I have attached them instead.

I have to say that the great contribution Midori has made is to show us that a notebook can be held in a leather cover with elastic bands. It has allowed many of us to make some nice covers to fit the way we like to work. I look at what you've done: it is beautiful and you've modified the basic design to fit with what works better for you. I am thinking about making a cover that will fit some Tomoe River paper that I have. I don't mid cutting down ordinary paper to fit my travelers notebook size, but I don't want to waste any of the Tomoe River. Now I know how to do that.

Thanks for the nice comments. I'm currently scheming on possible mods and will post back if anything comes of them.

 

@WHartman That's my bookplate stamp that I had made up. It has a plague doctor on it to warn all borrowers to return my books.

 

@SallyLyn If I can do it, anyone can. Heck, below average chimps could probably do it if I can. I still have all my fingers too.
