Well, at least that part worked. Too bad about the pen. On the other hand, you had a great buy with that nib/section.....

are they trying to arrange for replacement pen. have they given a reason for the delay in refund.

have you tracked the pen you returned, they might not have received it yet and waiting to receive it before refunding your money?

anyways considering the long shipment times involved, sending something that is not 100 % , is not acceptable.

I was not offered that option and to be honest would not have wanted to go that path anyway.

The seller acknowledged receipt of the pen on the 3rd March (3 days from shipment) and that the Paypal refund had been instigated.

I have been in email contact with both the seller and Paypal who were the most difficult to contact. Paypal say the hold up is at sellers bank. Seller says it's now in the hands of Paypal.

This morning I have asked the seller to now refund me direct through bank transfer or a cheque to which I await a reply.

In hind sight I should have raised a dispute through Paypal because that has more traceability on the system and if the refund is quick it can be cancelled.

Update:

On 3/3 the pen was received by the seller who immdediately instigated a refund.

On 11/3 the sellers bank transferred the funds back to their Paypal account.

It's now 18/3 and no funds have yet been paid into my Paypal account.

So much for Paypal safety...safe maybe but fast it aint.

There are a number of errors with this purchase.

1. The pen should never have left the seller in the condition it was.

2. I should have used common sense, as stated before, if it looks too good to be true then pass it by. At no point before sale, in the description, did the seller state the pen was shop(s) soiled.

3. I should have been offered full compensation i.e. including my return costs and not a shop credit. All I could buy was 2 bottles of ink which cost £16 when they could have been purchased here in the UK for £10.

After 10 emails to and from Paypal yesterday and almost the same to the seller.

At one point Paypal contacted the seller by phone, the refund arrived into my account late last night.

Here endeth a BIG lesson.

As we say in Dutch: eind goed, al goed.

I think the translation is not that difficult....
