Hi everyone,

I would like to know something on my safety pen. When I turning the nib inside the barrel, some air bubbles are "exploded" !So many ink "dots" on my hands when I turning the nib inside the barrel.

This issue only happen in my no.6 pen and the nib is not the original nib of Montblanc product. But on my other 12 1/2 safety does not have this problem.

The reason is a incorrect nib ? Or this problem will happened on any large safety pen.

Regards

I have a MB safety 204 and air bubbles form too -- but they don't explode. I think it's because the seal between the cap and collar is so tight that when the pen is shaken during transport, the ink inside (especially if it's particularly viscous) creates a stubborn film of ink that pops when the nib is pushed out.

I changed the ink to a more watery ink and it was fine. Have you tried a different ink?

It depends IMHO mostly on the ink. My Ideal 44 shows big bubbles with the old Montblanc Midnightblue and even directly after uncaping. With the old Montblanc Blueblack it is much less. I think it depends on how much surfactants ("soap") the ink contains.
