Since I have already done this, the answer is easy. Quink Blue. Plain ordinary Quink Blue.

At the time I was not at home for six months at a stretch. All my things were packed and the only bottle of ink I had on hand was Quink Blue. Believe I went about two and a half years with "just" Quink until that work wrapped up.

I would probably pick Diamine Registrar's. I recently tried the sample that I had left untouched and fell in love with it. Once I work through a bit more of the ink I already have, I plan to order a big 100 mL bottle and use it as my main ink. Haha, I especially think it would be good for a desert island where I would like my work to be water resistant, provided I have a reliable source of fresh water to perform regular pen maintenance. :-)

1-10, it would probably be a 2 or 3. I pretty much use the same inks all the time now because I've narrowed down my search to find the ones I like, but I do like to play with fun colors in my big 1.5 mm stub...

1. Iroshizuku Tsuyu Kusa, reminds me of pastel blue in the south of France.

2. (3); but only because I've been able to buy most of the other inks I've taken an interest in, and have managed to get them flowing, even Rouge hematite which took a very long time, and except for Edelstein Mandarin which is unfortunately on a recalcitrant Lamy Vista... If you caught me before buying them I would be at least a (7) for sure, perhaps a (9) on a bad day...
