I must find a firmer silicone grease or some other type.

This one is kind of "runny".

Any Ideas?

P.S. That red line shows a grain of rice that gradually sank to show how runny this grease is.

You may want to check with your local hardware store. Buying something appropriate on-line might end up with shipping more costly than the grease itself.

FWIW, I took an empty G2 and after pulling off the front end, I could force air through the back end and push that original grease out. It could be shoved back in again. So you might want to consider doing the same thing the next time you go to load a G2 refill with fountain pen ink.

It will take some testing. The grease must NOT be runny, BUT at the same time, NOT stick to the tube walls so it descends as the ink level drops.

I think I 'll save it next time instead of tossing it, though it is much easier to put new grease in with a syringe equipped with a large bore blunt needle.
