Faber-Castell Nibs

I just looked on the Writing Desk, and they are selling nib units for the Ambition and the eMotion (these are different nib units). In fact, it looks as though they're selling the entire nib+section unit. The nibs may be the same, but the section isn't...

If it comes with the section then yes it will be specific to the pen. But if its just the nib unit (nib, feed, and collar(the thing that holds the nib to the feed)) then that is the same between the basic, Loom, Ambition, Ondoro, and E-motion. Which kind of saddens me to think an E-motion has the same nib unit as a basic. The nib units just unscrew out of the sections, although they can be really tough to unscrew sometimes.

That being said, and with the price conversion of the usd - euro, the White E-motion from La Couronne Du Comte including the GOURMET10 discount code from gourmet pens, makes it a very attractive 85 ish euros which translates to about $93 usd. I'm having a hard time saying no.

From time to time I see some very good ebay deals on the Ondoro (plastic versions). That may help those who quite like the pen but feel it's a bit expensive...

Amazon too.

I bought mine there for a few pennies over £35 delivered.

One of my favourite pens and my solid every day carry for months now. LOVE it.

(It's nib is identical as far as I can make out to my Basic)

I'm considering buying a Loom.

How broad/fine line does it put down compared to other pens? I have Metropolitan (M), Custom 74 (M), Jinhao X450 (M), AL-star (F).

I'm choosing between F and M.

Faber Castell M is slightly wider than Metro's M. I am not sure how fine is FC's F. Judging by the flow my best guess is FC F would be a little dry without a tweak. FC nib feels very 'substantial' in that it can take a lot more abuse than Metro's. If you are comfortable with metro M I suggest you for for FC M.
