Pw Akkerman New Smaller Size

Chi Town

Recommended Posts

I brought my big bottle last month to my pen club meeting and quickly drew a crowd. One member who attends the big pen shows said that when he gets there the person(s) who sell Akkerman ink are always sold out, so he'd never had a chance to buy any. It's such an added bonus that the ink is so beautiful and well behaved, too!

Breathe. Take one step at a time. Don't sweat the small stuff. You're not getting older, you are only moving through time. Be calm and positive.

Most colors of the ink have already sold out in the large bottle form. So if one has not purchased a big bottle yet, one better get moving.

I was too late to get #8 and #24 in the big bottles, so I shall be forced to wait until they begin to sell the small bottles.

I didn't realize the big bottles were a limited edition. What do "normal" Akkerman bottles look like?

No doubt, Amber will buy 8 bottles and have them shipped from Europe. Ahem, umm, maybe order nine bottles and send one my way? :)

:) That's what I did the first two times.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

You know, I need quantities of new ink like I need a hole in my head, but I had always fancied those bottles... if they hadn't been so large. This new line will be perfect for me: I can try modest amounts of new inks, and then I'll have reasonably sized bottles to decant some of my 'always on hand' inks that just don't happen to come in the greatest of containers, either functionally or aesthetically. I consider this a very winning development!

I have three of the large bottles - one empty and two full. But I am very much looking forward to the smaller size bottles. I'll probably be buying multiples if someone in the US stocks them (Van Ness?) or if Amber does another group buy.

I just checked. There are only six colours left, and Simplisties Violet is not among them ... where is the crying icon?

Luckily, I have a bottle of Shocking Blue, which is my favourite blue in my favourite Pelikan Silvexa. The sheen is incredible.

They won't change the inks themselves, will they?

I have to edit this again: I sent a mail to The Hague and have been told, that they will continue all colours.

When you say sold out is that at The Hague or at Vanness?

Dont know why my first post didnt appear but really looking forward to the new bottle size!! Have been holding out on buying some Akkerman though I really wanted to try them as didnt want to buy so much ink at once per colour. The new bottles are then ideal as desk inkbottles!

Wish list: Aurora Optima

Current inked Pens: Pilot Decimo - Noodlers BBH, MB Mozart - MB Lavender

Pelikan M150 - Noodlers Kung te Cheng

I have two of the large bottles, #23 & #10. Love the bottles & the inks.

The small bottles indeed have a vintage touch. I'd be more inclined to get other colours in a smaller size. Glad they kept the clever ink-filling feature.

Attila, can you get them from a distributor in Hungary?

The inks and bottles were an anniversary edition that proved so popular they extended their anniversary 3 years. These little ones are perfect, and I imagine the result of the popularity of the big ones.

If you're going to order from Vanness move quickly: as of yesterday the big bottles are selling fast.

There was no word on when the small bottles would arrive.

Szervusz István,

Sadly no, I had to organized a little group by here in Hungary a while ago.

Now the color I'd like is only available via Vanness and our currency is kind of low these days, so I think I'll skip this for now. We'll see.

Szervusz Attila,... thanks for the reply.

Yesterday I contacted Vanness by telephone & yes they'll have most of the small bottles available @ the end of Feb.

I could ship you a bottle or two once I get mine from the USA.

Why not order them from Akkerman directly, once they're available? After all, the Netherlands and Hungary are both members of our beloved European Union, so it should be relatively simple and much cheaper than having them sent from the US, which would make them cross the Atlantic twice.

Oh, yes I know. I was only talking about the big bottle now.

But I think I'll wait for the smaller ones anyway.

Thank you István! That is very kind of you!

Its is okay for me to order directly from Akkerman, I've done it before. So that is fine.

My concern was that they don't have #15 in the big bottle now, only Vanness does in the US.

But I've decided to wait...I have one big bottle to admire after all ;)
