Meisterstück 149 "fine" Nib?

as MB nibs are all hand-made, IMHO the size of the tipping varies between nibs. I just bought a new 149 with Fine nib, and it's much thinner than the F size of my 146. Its even finer and drier than the Pelikan M1000 EF.

"Hand-made" in that humans have a significant part to play in the final form and finish. So one should be not surprised when variations exists..... it is, in fact, truly human!

Very well-said!

Human designed, human crafted, human tweaked, human polished, human finalized, human packed and shipped, human sold, and human used.

So much for fountain pen-using robots...

I enjoyed the writing sample.

The video may say. At least nibs were hand-run and hand-ground by craftsmen, that makes the tipping width varies among pens.

So most nibs on the planet are "handmade" then. I don't see anything different there compared to Pilot, Aurora, Parker or any of the others.

Thanks for the video.

Montblanc is one of many outstanding fountain pen manufacturers. It's a long list.

Thanks AGAIN for the writing samples!!!!

Thanks. Honestly I wasn't a MB fan until I found my grail MB 149 with Fine nib. It's now on my daily rotation, together with S.T Dupont Olympio XL and a blue Edson.

I have a 144 Ultra Black with F nib that looks more like a Medium. Very smooth and wet. Then I bought a 149 also with F nib. The nib was very scratchy and dry compared to the 144. It wasn't smooth at all, so I've sendt it to Montblanc for a change to a Medium nib.

Knowing the specificity of MB nibs, I ordered my 149 with EF nib. Not at all scratchy.

Indeed, a great difference upon the paper quality. On a low quality paper, it writes rather like an M (I would appreciate a with of .35.-.4), while on Rhodia it is a nice F nib (.22-.25).
