Platinum Blue-Black Bottled Ink

I've been wondering where to buy a bottle of Platinum Blue-black ink in the US.

It's been out of stock at Jetpens and GouletPens. Nibs.com seems to have it for $4.00, but they have a minimum purchase of $25, and I'm not sure what the shipping would cost.

Anyway, just was wondering if anyone has any suggestions.

Thanks in advance!

Hello!

From what I have seen in a recent Japanese stationery magazine, Platinum has repackaged its regular inks in bottles and boxes similar to the Platinum pigment inks. Outlets like JetPens will probably carry the newly packaged inks, but it may take a little time for them to update the website.

In the meantime, you may be able to buy Platinum blue-black ink at Kinokuniya, a Japanese book and stationery store with outlets in several American cities (check Google), and they usually stock bottled Platinum and Pilot inks. Although I can simply go to Kinokuniya in downtown Seattle to pick up ink or a special order, I believe Kinokuniya will ship items for a reasonable fee.

I will miss the old 30cc Platinum bottles which are hold outs from the last century.

Good luck with you quest!

No matter where you go, there you are.

I just heard back from JetPens about this ink, and this is in fact what they told me - that 30ml bottles have been discontinued. They didn't tell me anything about the new ones - let's hope they'll carry those soon.

Thanks for the idea re Kinokuniya store - I go to the cities where they are located reasonably often, so I'll check them out.

For now, I just bought a bottle of Pilot Blue-Black, which I think is very similar. It should arrive very soon.
