Parker Premier 18K Presidential

Recommended Posts

Hi,

This is a Parker Premier 18K gold fountain pen that I recently acquired. It has been in the box for a long time and the body and cap looks like they could be polished up a little bit. Should I have someone clean it up or just leave it as is? Any advice or information would be appreciated.

Thanks,

IKWarren

I think a Sunshine cloth should be able to shine it up again and you could do it yourself.

IKWarren..personally I would leave it as is..write with it..and

let the patina develop further..However..if you have to see it

bright and shiny..the Sunshine {Jeweler's Cloth} will be the

ticket.

Fantastic pen. I never had one in solid gold just solid sterling silver.

I have 4 Premier's.

This new one is a Gran d'Orge or Orange.

IKWarren that's a really beautiful pen. I don't know a lot, but I reminds me of the Parker 75. Am I right?

Congratulations for getting this beauty.

The Premier was based off of the 75. It's slightly fatter and taller, but shaped the same and with a similar section with the finger grips. It was Parker's top-of-the-line pen in the early 80s before the Duofold. More expensive than a 75 and with an 18kt gold nib and Presidential versions in solid gold, which is what this one is.

Thank you Florida Blue. I didn't know. Only recently I noticed the 75, but it\s growing on me.

The Premier is reeeaaaaally a beautiful pen and very elegant. I see that it comes with the tool to align the nib with the grip (photo 3). That's sooooo cool :)

  • 2 weeks later...

If I get old and lose my teath some day, I hope that the tooth fairy will bring me a presidential (if it's a 75 Keepsake the tooth fairy can decide for herself if it shall be a presidential or just silver as long as it is mint).
